Covering the video games industry since 2017, with experience in news, articles, lists, and reviews (and I blame The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask for that).

If you are a fan of RPGs and want a third-person version: Tayná Garcia is a Brazilian journalist (but you can call her Tay) who ended up working with video games after finishing Zelda: Majora's Mask when she was a kid. With more than eight years of experience in the segment, she has been an assistant editor at Jovem Nerd in the past and is currently a contributor at DualShockers and a writer for gaming magazines for Editora Europa. Oh, and she may like Hideo Kojima a bit too much.

When Turok: Origins was first announced at The Game Awards 2024, fans of the long-dormant franchise were beyond excited (including me!). However, the radio silence that followed led many to fear the project was no longer on track – and we can’t really blame them, considering the sheer number of delays, layoffs, and cancellations hitting the gaming industry lately.

But it seems players can finally breathe a sigh of relief! That’s because the game resurfaced in a major way during this Thursday’s Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase on February 5th, proving that the hunt is very much still on, indeed.

Out of nowhere, Saber Interactive made a surprise appearance at the event with a brand-new trailer for Turok: Origins.

And this latest look finally revealed more gameplay details and gave us our first deep glimpse into the new journey that awaits fans as they fight to save humanity across the treacherous Lost Lands.

The trailer showcased a wide array of combat abilities, ranging from close-quarters melee combat to long-range sharpshooting, along with special skills designed to keep gameplay fresh.

Dinosaurs have captured people's attention for decades and have been a popular fixture in video games. Here are the best dino games around!

One standout feature for me is that players can freely toggle between first-person and third-person camera modes at any time, allowing for a fully customized experience. And, of course, the footage didn't shy away from the stars of the show: plenty of primal creatures, including some truly massive dinosaurs.

While the game is being marketed as a premier cooperative experience, the trailer clarified that you can go solo as a lone wolf if you prefer, rather than just rely on friends for backup.

The official video description captures the hype perfectly: “The legend of Turok returns! Hunt down prehistoric beasts and fight an alien threat across the Lost Lands in Turok: Origins.”

Players can freely toggle between first-person and third-person camera modes at any time.

In additionto the gameplay reveal, the trailer finally gave us a release window for Turok: Origins. Players can officially mark their calendars, as the game is set to launch in Fall 2026, meaning we can expect to return to the Lost Lands between September and November this year.
