The fans of Vampire Crawlers who were disappointed when the credits rolled are finally getting the feature they've begged for since launch, as a new update has added a way to keep playing the game for as long as they can cheese the rules.
Vampire Crawlers is a spin-off of Vampire Survivors, being set in the same world and using the same characters and enemies. The main differences are the gameplay loop and perspective: Vampire Crawlers is a first-person deck-building dungeon crawler with set encounters, where players attack enemies with cards that deal damage and generate energy for more strikes, leading to all kinds of fun builds.
The only problem with Vampire Crawlers is that it's over too soon, being a fairly easy game to 100%. Those hungry for more dungeon exploration have received their wish, as the Vampire Crawlers Steam page has announced that an Endless Mode is finally available and can be downloaded now on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Vampire Crawlers Has Added An Endless Mode

The Version 1.5 update for Vampire Crawlers is now available on all platforms, and one of its additions is an Endless Mode, which can be unlocked after finishing the game for the first time. This mode is connected to a new Relic, and activating it will allow the player to access Endless versions of existing stages, meaning they can use it in every level currently available in Vampire Crawlers.
Players won't have an easy time in Endless Mode, as the difficulty in each stage has been amped up, growing even tougher with every new floor uncovered. More importantly, the Jeweller has been disabled, meaning players can't alter how Gems appear in each stage, meaning certain builds can't be relied upon. These are great choices, as Vampire Crawlers has often been criticized for being too easy, and Endless Mode needs to ramp up the challenge.
The Version 1.5 update for Vampire Crawlers is now available on all platforms, and one of its additions is an Endless Mode, which can be unlocked after finishing the game for the first time.
The Version 1.5 update for Vampire Crawlers has also added several useful features, including the ability to quit the game on PC, buttons that can sort cards, a clearer UI for the Jeweller, and the ability to view the Grim Grimoire when leveling up. There are also many bug fixes across all platforms, making the game far more stable than before.
Like Vampire Survivors, Vampire Crawlers is also adding a ton of free post-launch content, with 2026 alone featuring a roadmap that includes new cards, Arcanas, gems, characters, a Relic that limits hand size, and a Moonglow stage. 2027 will add the Astral Stair from Vampire Survivors, giving players the chance to explore a realm beyond the stars.
Vampire Crawlers is a strong contender for GOTY 2026, even if a certain November game is going to blow it out of the conversation. The big problem with Vampire Crawlers is the short runtime, especially compared to the infinite replayability of Vampire Survivors. It's frustrating when a game that's so addictive has a definitive endpoint, with the only remaining content being to go through the story again.
Hopefully, once Vampire Crawlers starts adding more content, it will reach the same heights as its predecessor, enchanting fans worldwide with its incredible gameplay loop that keeps pushing players forward. Endless Mode is a big step toward that goal, as the ability to keep going lets players challenge themselves to see just how far they can crawl and prove who is the best at breaking the game.
