In case you haven't been tuning in to series 21 of Taskmaster — which is available on YouTube for anyone outside the United Kingdom (and airs on Channel 4 for UK residents) — Kumail Nanjiani is one of five contestants battling it out for the prestigious title of Taskmaster Champion.

He's only the third American contestant to appear, following Desiree Burch and Jason Mantzoukas, and he's such a big fan of the show after discovering it through James Acaster's stand-up show Repertoire, he disregarded financial advice to not do the show and therefore lost money by participating.

So it's safe to say he gets what Taskmaster is about: completing bizarre, nonsensical challenges while thinking outside the box. And this clip from the next episode, which airs at 4 p.m. EDT tomorrow, April 9, proves it:

The very first task in each episode always requires the contestants to bring in an item from home with a very specific criteria. This week, they were asked to present "the most fun thing you can drag behind you on a string."

Nanjiani nails it in one: "I'm a 47-year-old man, Greg [Davies, the host of Taskmaster], so nothing is more fun than going to bed at a reasonable hour. So what I would love to drag behind me on a piece of string is an 'early to bed' kit."

Nanjiani's kit includes a clock without an alarm set, a sleep mask, some melatonin pills, and perhaps most iconically and relatably, a diary with only one entry: a social obligation that somebody else cancelled. True bliss.
