Speed skills require you to literally put pedal to the metal and hold down your throttle in Forza Horizon 6. Getting a speed skill can be a little tricky because it's not clear how fast you have to go. Not just that, there are also great speed skills, which have the same problem.

Speed skills can also show up as a challenge in the Festival Playlist. For example, as part of the summer for the "Welcome to Japan" series, you need to earn six speed skills in the 2022 Toyota GR86.

Speed skills in Forza Horizon 6 are earned by going fast. Sounds simple, right? Well, there's some nuance to it because to earn a basic speed skill, you must reach 125 miles per hour. However, some challenges, like the "Floor It!" Horizon Play challenge in the summer of the "Welcome to Japan" series, require you to earn great speed skills. Great speed skills are earned by reaching 150 mph, but only some cars are capable of that.

To earn speed skills, we recommend getting on the highway, particularly the straight portions in the Shimanoyama region, and holding down the accelerate button. If you're required to do this challenge in "Horizon Play!," you can actually complete the challenge in the warm-up portion before the race actually starts. Just try to hit the 125 or 150 mph threshold for a second or two to earn the speed skill or great speed skill respectively.

If, in the future, awesome and ultimate speed skills are required, they need 175 mph and 200 mph respectively. We'd also recommend using the best drag car for this challenge if you can because it can hit those speeds with ease.
