When to Find the Base Builder Tool in Subnautica 2

Subnautica 2 is finally here, and with everyone ready to make a big splash, it might behoove you to take a moment to breathe. While the game itself is relatively simple, some things can go under the radar if you aren't sure how to get them.

The Habitat Builder Tool certainly feels like one of those things. Unlike regular materials, like silver, it can be difficult to pin down how to get this tool, especially when you're first starting.

You won't be able to snag it right out of the gate, so you'll have some hoops to jump through. If you're playing co-op with friends, that might be made a bit easier since you're able to gather resources separately.

To get this tool, you'll need to get the Scanner tool first. It's not a complex tool to craft, but it will serve you well as you make your journey on this alien planet.

While survival should be your first priority, your second priority should be building up some resources to craft what you'll need. It's not a bad idea to do a little exploration as well.

Crafting the Scanner Tool

Crafting the Scanner Tool isn't too much of a challenge, but it will probably take you a bit to make heads or tails of where everything is. You'll need to craft at least one item to put into it, but the other two should be fairly easy to find.

You'll need the following items:

• Titanium x2
• Quartz 2x
• Basic Battery

Once you craft the Scanner Tool, you can head back out into the wild blue yonder in search of what you'll need to scan. This is where things might get a little confusing in this survival game.

Finding the Habitat Builder Tool Blueprint

After you've been swimming around for a bit, you might notice some weirdly shaped items that seem interactable, but aren't. These are broken versions of the tool you're looking for.

To get the blueprint, you'll need to find two of them and scan them. You can find these scattered around, but they'll typically be near any man-made structures, so just keep a sharp eye out.

Crafting the Habitat Builder Tool

This is where you'll need to really collect some materials for crafting. Getting the materials isn't difficult, but you'll want a good number of the three basic materials: Quartz, Copper, and Titanium.

You'll need to craft the following items:

• Titanium 2x
• Glass
• Basic Battery
• Copper Wire

You should be able to craft all of these back at the Fabricator, and then once you do, you can immediately craft the Habitat Builder Tool. It's an important step in your journey to mastering the world of Subnautica.
