How to Unlock Forge in Fields of Mistria

The (Placeable) Forge is actually one of the easier tools to unlock as part of Field of Mistria's Fourth Major Update (0.15.0). Unlike the Auto Feeder, Mini-Mill, or Seed Maker, there are no level or vendor upgrade prerequisites to take care of first. Rather, this tool is available to you from the start of the game, which definitely provides you with incredible convenience in terms of crafting items for yourself and for provision requests from the comfort of home.

The Forge can be purchased from the Carpenter's Shop by the Eastern Road for 2,000 x Tesserae, and it functions exactly like the one you'd normally use at the Smithy in town. Should you misplace it in your inventory for whatever reason, you can purchase another (and as many as you want) if needed.

How to Use Forge in Fields of Mistria

Once you have your Forge bought and paid for, return to your farm and decide where you'd like it placed. Similar to other placeable crafting stations, you can set up the Forge inside or outside your home, as long as you have enough empty tile space in the designated area. Also, it doesn't require you to build the structure from scratch with raw materials like Barns, Coops, and Greenhouses do.

After placing it, interact with the Forge to pull up the menu of crafting options, which includes all metal-based tools and the ingots required to make them. You'll want to focus on building up your stock of the ingots you need first, which range from Copper to Mistril grade.

Should you ever need to move your Forge, you can "deconstruct" it by hitting it with your pickaxe, at which point it'll return to your inventory as an item. Move to the new spot where you want it, and place it just as you did before.
