Although silver is a key resource in Subnautica 2, it's incredibly hard to find… Unless you've discovered a well-hidden but massive silver deposit in one of the cave systems. Luckily, we can guide you there, so you can craft a handy air tank, get a wakemaker, and start your silver ingot production before long.
Here's how to find silver pieces and obtain silver ingots in Subnautica 2.
[Ed. note: Before you dive in, be sure to open the character menu and enable all landmark signals. This will make it easier to spot the locations mentioned in this guide.]
Update (June 11): We added another silver farming spot near the Alien Ruins.
Where to find silver ingots in Subnautica 2
Silver deposits are much rarer than titanium and copper. If you'd like to search for them yourself, be sure to try deep caves and ravines rather than the higher reef plateaus. Silver ore appears as a silver-gray cluster, not too different from titanium and lead in appearance, but pointier.
Although you can collect tiny silver nodes right away and break the medium ones with your bare hands, you'll need a sonic resonator to crack the largest silver veins. The first silver farming spot described below doesn't require a sonic resonator.
To turn silver chunks into silver ingots, you must use a processor. Once you've unlocked base-building by crafting a habitat builder tool and set up a basic base (don't forget to power it with solar panels), you can build a processor with titanium, copper wire, and mild acid. Insert three pieces of silver to craft one silver ingot. It takes one minute to finish processing the silver. You can also use your silver to craft germanium ingots, which require two pieces and two minutes to process.
Best early-game silver farming spot in Subnautica 2
An excellent silver farming spot is located 130 meters north of the Lifepod, and about 70 meters west of Anita's Blackbox. Look for the large coral dome with the glowing plants around its roots, and enter the cave system below. It's full of blue glowing plants (watch out for the poisonous ones near the entrance).

Interact with each small silver node four times to break it and collect two to three silver pieces.

A bit further down the tunnel, you'll find many tiny silver pieces on the ceiling.

Don't miss the biobed while you're here! From here, you can swim up to find still more silver nodes in the many tunnels above you, or swim all the way up to find an exit and return to your base.

You will need three pieces of raw silver to do so, so don't throw the entire stash in the processor just yet!
Best late-game silver farming spot in Subnautica 2
Once you've investigated the Tadpole Pens and crossed the ravine leading to the Alien Ruins, you might be looking for a local silver farming spot. To find the best mid- to late-game silver deposit, start from the Research Center at the Alien Ruins signal (1,280 meters east of the Lifepod) and travel 150 meters northwest. Now, dive down and look for the small cave entrance marked by bright pink-orange plants. This cave system is absolutely packed with silver deposits.

If you're starting out in Subnautica 2, we have a plethora of guides to help you navigate the deep blue sea. Our Subnautica 2 beginner's guide will set you off in the right direction and our base building tips will assist in planning out your sprawling base. Don't forget to stock up on food and water, too. (And if you want to get fancy with your food, you'll want salt!)
If you need help finding materials, we explain how to get the sonic resonator, which you'll want to mine tons of materials. We have guides on where to find these resources, like lead, sulfur, copper, quartz, and gold.
