Where to Find the Western Bridge Key in No Rest for the Wicked

Whether you are trying to reach Sacrament or searching for materials like Saltstone, eventually you may find a door in No Rest for the Wicked that requires the Western Bridge Key to open. There are a few doors that require keys that aren't in obvious places.

Unfortunately, the Western Bridge Key isn't an item you are going to just find lying around. Instead, you need to progress the story and complete specific objectives to find it.

Let's break down how you can get the Western Bridge Key in No Rest for the Wicked and where to use it.

Western Bridge Key Location

The Western Bridge Key is obtained as part of the side quest called The Innkeeper's Husband. It becomes unlocked after you complete the first main quest in the game.

Near the entrance to Sacrament, you will run into an NPC named Caroline. This is the innkeeper, and she is the one who will give you the quest. It turns out that her husband left for the section of the map called The Shallows.

Caroline is standing outside the inn. You can upgrade the inn via the town project menu, which is accessed by talking to Danos in the town square.

After obtaining the quest, you will see a quest marker appear next to the Saltborn Tower Whisper in The Shallows section of the map. You will either need to run your way to the tower or fast travel to it, which can be done if you have evoked the Whisper.

Once you reach the tower, climb it, and you will see the innkeeper's husband, Gordon, waiting for you on the bridge. Directly in front of Gordon will be a small blue light. Interact with it to get the Western Bridge Key.

If you talk to Gordon after this, he will ask for your assistance in lowering the ladder to get to the top of the next tower. Be prepared, because there will be plenty of enemies to fight for the rest of the quest.

Using the Western Bridge Key and Finishing the Quest

From where you pick up the Western Bridge Key, you will want to head north like you are going back to Sacrament. If you unlocked the ladders to the north of where you met up with Gordon, you can use those to quickly reach the door.

If you did not unlock the ladders, make your way into the fort via the hole in the wall near the fire to the right of the Saltborn Tower Whisper. From here, hang a left inside the for and climb the tower.

At the top of the tower, you will see a staircase that leads to a door where you can use the Western Bridge Key. This will allow you to progress through the northeastern part of The Shallows. Watch out for multiple enemies in the area.

Follow this path around to the tower above where you met Gordon on the bridge. Here, you will hear Gordon tell you to lower the ladder so that he can climb up.

After you lower the ladder, speak to Gordon to finish out the quest and get a handful of rewards that consist of some ingredients you can use for cooking.
