The world of Hytale is chock-full of devishly demonic and dangerous foes, all waiting to get their grubby hands, or tentacles, on you.

However, what they don’t realise is that you’re about to plough through hundreds of them in order to satisfy your mad crafting fantasy.

The enemies we’re talking about today are the Void enemies, which spawn during the night. While at the beginning of the game, these enemies are going to make your life a misery, once you’ve equipped yourself with some powerful tools, you’ll quickly turn the tide in your favour.

9 Games to Play if You Love Hytale

Blocky or realistic, survival or combat, there are plenty of games that match Hytale's distinct vibe.

Let’s take a look at some of the loot these monsters can drop, as well as how to use them for all your crafting needs.

The Voidheart

Monsters

The main drop you're going to see every time you kill one of these void monsters is the Essence of the Void. This is an extremely common drop, and you’ll get more depending on the ferocity of the monster you kill.

However, occasionally one of these monsters will drop an item known as a Voidheart. This Epic Tier item is a very rare drop, and the loot chance scales based on the monster killed. Here are the mobs that can drop the Voidheart:

Void Crawler
Void Eye
Void Larva
Void Spawn
Void Spectre

While there’s a chance that a Larva or Crawler may drop a Voidheart, you have a higher chance of getting one from the flying Void Eyes or the Void Spawns.

In my experience, the Void Eye is the easiest to kill simply by shooting arrows at it from a distance, and it has a good chance of dropping one. Generally, if you go hunting for 1 full night, you have a relatively good chance of finding at least 1 Voidheart.

Chances are, you’re not going to find many of these void monsters in the normal areas of the Emerald Grove. I’m not 100% certain about the spawn rules of these monsters, but you’re more likely to find them in spooky or gloomy areas.

For example, I do most of my void farming in the Swamp Sub-Biome of the Emerald Grove. While it can be pretty tough to get around this area, you’ll find a lot of Void Crawlers and Void Eyes. You can also find these monsters in certain parts of the desert. Groups of Crawlers can spawn at once, with up to 4 at a time. Target these large groups and hope for a Voidheart.

If you want to fight a bunch of Void enemies at once, consider setting up an Ancient Gateway and heading to the Dread Wade Realm. After 7 minutes of exploration, portals will open, and Void enemies will spill into the world. You have a total of 3 minutes to kill as many void monsters as possible before you’re booted out of the area.

Voidheart Uses

Despite its rarity, you actually need quite a lot of these things. For example, simply to upgrade the Armourer’s workbench from Tier 2 to Tier 3, you’re going to need 3 Voidhearts.

In addition, once Mithril Weapons are released into the game, you’ll need 1 Voidheart per weapon. You may also notice that the 2nd backpack upgrade also requires 1 Voidheart; however, due to Storm Leather not being available yet, this is unobtainable.
