Lego Pokemon Smart Play: All-in-One Playsets
12 interactive playsets with sound and light effects launch August 1.
Lego launched its first official Pokemon sets earlier this year, and soon the line is expanding with 12 new Lego Pokemon kits launching August 1. The new sets are part of Lego's Smart Play collection, which use unique Smart Brick pieces that enable interactive features like reacting to movement, playing sounds, and more.
Like other Smart Play sets, these new Pokemon displays are divided into two types, starting with the Smart Play All-in-One sets like the $120 Charizard vs. Jolteon Ultimate Battle display (751 pieces) and the $70 Training House Pikachu (400 pieces). These kits include the Smart Brick pieces required to enable the interactive Smart Play features found in all the sets (hence their higher-than-average price tags).
The other 10 releases launching August 1 are "Smart Play Compatible" sets, like the Charmander & Geodude Cavern Clash (198 pieces) or Cubone & Gengar's Spooky Showdown (782 pieces). While these also include interactive Smart Play features, they do not ship with Smart Brick pieces--meaning you'll need to pair them with one of the All-in-One sets in order to use the Smart Play features--but the upshot is they're more affordable compared to the All-in-One sets. You can check out all 12 Lego Pokemon Smart Play sets below.

Preorders for all 12 sets are available now at multiple online retailers--though if your purchase any of the new Pokemon Smart Play sets from Pokemon Center and spend $130 or more, you'll get the Ditto as Squirtle: Movie Night Smart Play Compatible set as a free bonus. This deal is ongoing through December 31 and is open to residents of the United States, while supplies last.
Preorder any of the sets in Lego's new Smart Play collection from Pokemon Center and spend $130 or more to get the Ditto as Squirtle: Movie Night Smart Play Compatible set. This deal is ongoing through December 31 at 11:59 pm PST and is open to residents of the United States, while supplies last.
Lego Pokemon Smart Play All-in-One: Charizard vs. Jolteon Ultimate Battle Display (751 pieces)
$120 | Releases August 1
This Smart Play All-in-One set is one of the largest of the new kits at 751 pieces. It pits fan-favorite Charizard against Eevee's electrical evolution, Jolteon. As one of the two All-in-One sets launching August 1, this is one of the only sets that include the Smart Brick pieces required to unlock the interactive elements found in all 12 of the sets. For this display, you can shake Jolteon and Charizard to make them speak, restore their health with healing spray, or even power them up using the included training station.
Lego Pokemon Smart Play All-in-One: Training House with Pikachu (400 pieces)
$70 | Releases August 1
The second of the two Lego Pokemon Smart Play All-In-One Sets stars the series' mascot, Pikachu. You can train Pikachu with the training dummy to increase its power, hit the target in the tall grass with the included Poke Ball to reveal a surprise, or feed a sandwich to your Pokemon to see how they respond.
Berry Bash with Bulbasaur and Bidoof - Smart Play Compatible (240 pieces)
$20 | Releases August 1
The 240-piece Bulbasaur and Bidoof display is the first of the 10 Smart Play Compatible sets launching alongside the All-in-One sets on August 1. This means this set does not include any Smart Bricks pieces, though if you pair it with one of the two All-in-One sets, you'll unlock interactive features like hearing Bulbasaur and Bidoof's cute shouts.
Charmander and Geodude's Cavern Clash - Smart Play Compatible (198 pieces)
$20 | Releases August 1
Like the other Smart Play Compatible sets in the lineup, Charmander and Geodude's Cavern Clash is meant to be paired with one of the All-in-One sets. It comes with two Smart Tags, as well as a rocky diorama and a little lantern.
Cubone and Gengar's Spooky Showdown - Smart Play Compatible (782 pieces)
$90 | Releases August 1
Along with buildable Cubone, Gengar, and mini Ultra Ball pieces, this kit has several pieces of moveable scenery so you can create interactive battles--though you'll need to buy one of the All-in-One sets to get the Smart Bricks that power this display's sounds and animations.
Drone Search For Mythical Mew - Smart Play Compatible (429 pieces)
$50 | Releases August 1
Search for the elusive mythical Pokemon Mew with this 429-piece display featuring a buildable Mew figure, a Poke-drone, ancient ruins scenery, and mini Great Ball. Mew, the drone, and the ruins are all compatible with the Smart Brick found in the two flagship All-in-One kits listed above.
Eevee and Lapras's Treasure Hunt - Smart Play Compatible (623 pieces)
$60 | Releases August 1
This nautical-themed set includes an Eevee figure with poseable ears and Lapras, plus a few pirate-themed accessories and pieces of scenery like a shipwreck, raft, treasure map, and a treasure chest full of coins and gems. Eevee, Lapras, and the treasure box each have Smart Tags that react to the Smart Brick pieces from the All-in-One sets.
Jigglypuff Concert - Smart Play Compatible (88 pieces)
$15 | Releases August 1
This 88-piece set features the singing Pokemon Jigglypuff and a few accessories to create performance scenes. This is the smallest--and most affordable--of the new Pokemon Smart Play sets.
Mewtwo's Lab Break - Smart Play Compatible (605 pieces)
$70 | Releases August 1
This set includes the Legendary Mewtwo and the tank it was created in, plus a mini Master Ball. Builders can turn a dial on the tank, which breaks it open and frees Mewtwo from within. Mewtwo is fully poseable and comes equipped with a Smart Tag.
Trainer's Buggy Adventure with Squirtle - Smart Play Compatible (320 pieces)
$30 | Releases August 1
This set includes a buildable Squirtle and water-canon-equipped buggy vehicle. Both Squirtle and the buggy have Smart Tags and are compatible with the Smart Bricks found in the All-in-One sets. Squirtle is fully poseable as well and interacts with the other sets.
Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly Battle - Smart Play Compatible (313 pieces)
$35 | Releases August 1
This is the only one of the new sets that comes with three Pokemon, and each one has a Smart Tag so they can be paired with the Smart Bricks from the All-in-One sets. All three have movable parts, and the set comes with a Poke Ball. You also get a spinning wheel that lands on grass, water, or fire type, which could come in handy when you're trying to decide which Pokemon to send into battle.
Umbreon vs. Garchomp Championship Battle - Smart Play Compatible (831 pieces)
$80 | Releases August 1
The largest set in the Lego Pokemon Smart Play Line up, this kit pits Umbreon and Garchomp against one another. Both Pokemon are equipped with Smart Tags and compatible with Smart Bricks from the All-in-One sets.
While the functionality of the Smart Play sets is more advanced compared to standard Lego kits, there's no reason they can't hang out with the other Lego Pokemon displays released so far, including a posable Eevee figure, Pikachu and its Poke Ball display, and the enormous 6,838-piece Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise diorama.
Lego Pokemon: Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise (6,838 Pieces)
$650 | Now available
Lego Pokemon: Pikachu and Poke Ball (2,050 Pieces)
$200 | Now available
Lego Pokemon: Eevee (587 Pieces)
$60 | Now available
Also be sure to check out the many other Lego Smart Play Sets. Numerous sets have already launched and more are up for preorder. The line includes some of Star Wars' most iconic ships, including Vader's TIE Fighter, Luke's Red Five X-Wing, and the Millennium Falcon, to name a few.
