Laurence is an avid writer, gamer, and traveller with several years of journalistic writing experience under his belt. Having helped create a student-focused magazine at university, he is keen to reach the gaming community with his guides and game reviews.

Whether it's trudging through the world of Elden Ring, or grinding out raids in Old School Runescape, Laurence is always up for a challenge. However, in real life, his current challenge is learning how to speak Spanish and cooking authentic Mexican cuisine.

To those of you who were wondering whether that massive tower atop Moonveil Peak had a use or not, well, your patience has certainly been rewarded.

While the Bellman’s Oath is a particularly short quest, it actually takes quite a while to start. In fact, gearing up for this encounter takes a lot longer than the actual encounter itself. But don’t worry, the grind is certainly worth it, as you’re given one of the most beautiful cutscenes in the whole of Where Winds Meet.

So let’s take a look at how to activate this encounter and the rewards we get from completing it.

Collecting Oddities

Where Winds Meet Bell Piece

So before you’re able to actually start this quest yourself, firstly, you need to repair the bell at the top of the tower.

If you haven’t done this already, you can claim the bell piece by collecting as many oddities scattered around Qinghe as possible. Once you have the materials, you can find a merchant just east of the General’s Shrine Boundary Stone.

Work your way through the massive reward tree, moving towards the right, and you’ll find the bell piece as your final reward. Check out our guide above if you need help finding these oddities.

Repairing the Bell

Where Winds Meet Chime Bell

Once you’ve received your reward, head to Moonveil Peak and ascend the tower. You can either climb up using the scaffolding located around the outside of the building, or simply triple jump your way up to the top on the outside edge.

Before you reach the very top, enter the tower to find the broken Bell of Demoncalm. Here you can replace the missing fragment and then sound the bell. The sound of this will weaken all the World Bosses in Qinghe. This doesn’t apply to all bosses, like those found in the Main Quest, just to those wandering around the Open World.

Finding the Mysterious Voice

When I got to the tower for the first time, I couldn’t find the mysterious voice. This is because I had already repaired the tower before the update. You can fix this by ringing the bell to deactivate the buff and ringing it again to reset the cutscene.

Once the bell sounds, you will hear the voice of someone muttering overhead. Leave the bell and jump up to the very top of the tower. Follow the sound indicated onscreen, and you’ll find a man sitting by the edge of the roof. Don't worry, there's no fighting to be done here!

If you interact with him during the day, he will tell you to return at night. Head into the time selection menu and set the time to night, for example, Zi Hour.

Interact with the man again and exhaust his dialogue, and you’ll be shown a pretty stunning cutscene where you see the invisible world before you. Once you awake, the man will be gone, and you can claim your rewards.

Rewards

Where Winds Meet Bell Rewards

The rewards here aren’t really that special; in fact, I just did this quest for beautiful imagery and particularly stellar worldbuilding. However, the rewards are as follows:

  • 25x Echo Jade
  • 25x Qinghe Exploration
  • 8000 Coins
  • 8000 EXP
