Windrose: Factions and Reputation Guide

There's more to Windrose than roaming the game's many islands, collecting materials, and crafting items like gunpowder to help you survive. One of the many additions to the game is factions that you can rank up to earn additional rewards.

Several factions are waiting for you on the islands, with each of them being able to purchase and sell specific items that will aid you on your journey. Of course, not all of them are created equal. Some of them excel in ship crafting, while others will help you craft a better base.

Here is everything you need to know about the factions in Windrose, from selling items to earning a reputation.

Every Faction in Windrose

There are several factions in Windrose, with each of them being represented on one of the game's islands along with the town of Tortuga. The following factions are found in Windrose:

The four factions found on the islands in Windrose will each appear on Tortuga, but each of them has a dedicated island for their operations. It is recommended to travel to a faction's island, as this is where you will find the buyers, as well as provisioners.

Increasing Your Reputation

You can increase your reputation with each of the factions in Windrose. The higher your reputation with a faction is, the more items you will have available to purchase from the faction's provisioner. Each faction requires a specific amount of reputation to achieve a higher rank.

To increase your reputation and earn points with a faction, you will need to hand over Blackbeard Insignia. These are worth the following points, with each faction rewarding the same number of points for each type of insignia.

Blackbeard Insignia are obtained by killing pirates, with different ranks of pirates dropping different types of insignia. The higher rank a pirate is, the better the insignia will be that you get from killing them. You will also obtain insignia from destroying pirate ships.

Letters of Favor, on the other hand, are given to you by completing faction quests. The various factions will grant these to you once a quest has been completed. You can turn in insignia or Letters of Favor by interacting with a faction's bounty agent.

Faction Inventory

Each of the factions has a provisioner. The provisioner will sell you items for varying amounts of Piastre or Guinea. Most items will cost Piastre, but it is important to have both types of currency.

The factions will sell you various blueprints that you can use to craft new ships, build additional structures around your camp, create new armor, or craft decor to liven up your living quarters.

Selling Items to Factions

Various items and treasures can be sold to the factions for varying amounts of Piastre and Guinea. Of course, not every faction is interested in the same items, and nobody wants the iron ore you just dug up.

To sell items to any of the factions, you will need to travel to the respective faction's main base and locate the buyer. The buyer will purchase the trade goods you have collected during your journey and from the bosses you have defeated.
