Blake Morse is a contributor that has been working in the video game industry for over 18 years as a journalist, content creator, and has helped to publish and promote a number of indie games. In that time, he's gained knowledge and experience of not only how to be a thorough and competent journalist, but also the in's and out's of how gaming works as an industry at large. He has the type of insight that only comes with a seasoned career.

There’s been a new revolution in cozy Pokémon games thanks to Pokopia. Fans are having a great time as they explore and befriend a veritable cornucopia of creatures great and small on their journey. In fact, there are a little over 300 different Pokémon you can find in Pokopia.

That’s 300 plus precious little pals to fawn over. Obviously, there are a lot of fan favorites to find, along with your personal most cherished Pokémon. But that doesn’t mean they’re all going to be the cutest Pokémon out there. That’s why we’ve done our very best, like no one ever has, to determine which of these pocket monsters is the cutest of them all.

10 Farfetch’

Your Best Bird Buddy

This fine-feathered flying friend of a Pokémon can lend you a hand chopping down trees or building new homes in Pokopia. And he also happens to be one of the cutest birds in the Pokédex.

It’s hard to put a fine point on what makes Farfetch’d so cute. Maybe it's the feathers, or that handsome facade of theirs, or maybe it’s the way that they accessorize with that fancy leek of theirs. Whatever the reason, we can’t get enough of Farfetch’d. You can find him in-game chilling at Bleak Beach if you want to add him to your crew.

9 Marill

The Blue Mouse of Happiness

I wasn’t really that familiar with the water/fairy type Pokémon Marill before playing Pokémon Pokopia, but it quickly found its way into my heart. I don’t think mice and water usually mix in real life, but the blue fur and cheerful-looking demeanor of Marill are an adorable combination. And how about that blue puff on the end of its tail?

Marill just squeals and squeaks with cuteness. If you want to befriend one, you can find them hanging around in beach areas in Pokopia by putting four tall yellow grass near two water tiles. You're sure to find them cute.

8 SmearGuru

Painting a Better Future

I don’t think most Pokémon have a passion that they’re trying to pursue in life. Most seem to be content saying their own names over and over again. But not SmearGuru, they’re an artist with a passion for painting. They’re covered head to toe in colorful blotches of paint and use their tail as a brush to help you customize the looks of your buildings and furniture.

Not only is SmearGuru a very unique personality-wise, but Smeargles in general already bleed cuteness with dog-like appearances and what appears to be an artist’s beret on their head. If you want to make friends with this particularly special Smeargle, you can find him brooding on Bleak Beach.

7 Jigglypuff

Drop the Mic

Is Jigglypuff anything more than a big, pink poofball with a penchant for putting people and Pokémon alike to sleep with its soothing tones? Not really, no. But that won’t stop it from being one of the cutest Pokémon ever, hands down. Those giant baby blue eyes will not be denied their place among the list of the most charming creatures in Pokopia.

You can find Jigglypuff crooning their tunes in the Flower Garden Stump area if you want to add them to your army of adorableness. They’re only a common type, so it shouldn’t be too hard to get one to come by and hang out.

6 Sprigatito

Your New Garden Cat

Sprigatito is one heck of a lean, mean, green gardening machine of a feline Pokémon that I just can’t help but love. Sure, maybe I already have a soft spot for kitty kats in real life, but Sprigatito’s gorgeousness is undeniable even without my personal bias. It also proves that I’m not just picking Gen 1 Pokémon for this list since Sprigatito is from Gen 9.

Every Pokémon brings something different to the table when rebuilding the world.

Sprigatito can do things like help you fertilize your seeds and keep things growing in Pokopia since it’s a grass-type Pokémon. You can find them in the Sparkling Skylands if you want to befriend them.

5 Psyduck

Just Trying to Keep It Together

Look, I’m not gonna lie to you, Psyduck is my ride or die Pokémon. I have loved them since pocket monsters existed. The poor little dude has these crazy psychic abilities that are constantly giving them a migraine. I just find the whole scenario of going through life stressed to the gills while you try not to freak out on everyone so relatable.

If their demeanor wasn’t enough, the fact that they're a giant, yellow duck makes them cute enough without the need for my personal context. If you want to give them a well-deserved break, you can build them a hot spring in Pokopia to befriend them.

4 Mosslax

Sleepiest of the Sleepiest

Pokemon Pokopia Mosslax

You would think that Snorlax was already cute enough to begin with, but then Pokopia said, “Hold my beer…” and dropped the mighty Mosslax on us. The magnificent Mosslax is a Snorlax that’s been sleeping for so long that it ended up covered head to toe in moss, a true legend amongst legends. The result is nothing more than an astounding and absolute explosion of resplendent beauty.

You don’t need to worry about building anything to find Mosslax, but you will end up feeding them all sorts of delicious dishes throughout your adventures in Pokopia. You’re sure to find this unique Snorlax to be undeniably cute.

3 Chef Dente

Home Cooking

Pokemon Pokopia Chef Dente

Much like SmearGuru, Chef Dente is just another Pokémon trying to follow its passions. This time, they’re a Greedent that wants to be a gourmet guru. While I’m not sure that a giant rodent with cooking utensils would work out in real life without a lot of hair ending up in your soup, that’s not a problem in Pokopia. I mean, it worked out for Ratatouille, right?

I’m not sure how anyone could deny the unabashed elegance of Chef Dente and his delicious dishes. Somehow, the mission you get to unlock Chef Dente is a real meet-cute as well, but I won’t spoil it here if you have yet to play the game.

2 Peakychu

Bringing Back the Spark

Pokopia Peakychu

This sad, spooky, little fella is a Pikachu who has a vibe that makes me think he might like listening to emo music and shopping at Hot Topic. But, this Peakychu has good reasons for being so misanthropic. Its pale appearance and drooping ears, paired with its tragic backstory, make you want to give it a hug even more than your standard Pikachu.

Helping Peakychu get its groove back in Pokopia will warm your heart and give you a spark of hope in a dreary world. You just can’t help but love this latest iteration of a classic Pokémon.

1 Ditto

You Look Marvelous

Pokopia Leafage

How is a giant purple blob the cutest Pokémon in all of Pokopia? Simply put, Ditto is all things to all Pokémon. Their ability to transform into a sublime facsimile of a number of creatures throughout the game means they end up looking just as cute as whatever they mimic. Sure, the eyes may be a little different, but that’s forgivable.

Pokopia also lets you customize your Ditto’s human form and show just how fashion-forward your little pal can be. Don’t be afraid to do your own little montage with your Ditto to find the most kawaii outfits possible.
