17 JRPGs You Can Add To Your Collection For Cheap During All Of The Spring Game Sales

2 hours ago 1

Spring is officially here and a bunch of games are discounted to celebrate, including some of my favorite JRPGs.

The below list is pulled from current PlayStation and Nintendo eShop sales, so all of the games should be suitable pickups whether you’re playing on Switch 1, Switch 2, PS4, or PS5. A bunch of the games that have PC versions are also on sale on Steam, and may be even cheaper there.

Here’s over a dozen games worth picking up if you don’t have them yet:

  • Digimon Story Time Stranger – $49 (30 percent off)
  • Octopath Traveler 0 – $37.50 (25 percent off)
  • Persona 3 Reload – $24 (60 percent off)
  • Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake – $36 (40 percent off)
  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – $20 (50 percent off)
  • Star Ocean The Second Story R – $25 (50 percent off)
  • Fantasian Neo Dimension – $25 (50 percent off)
  • Dungeon Encounters – $9 (70 percent off)
  • Final Fantasy VII Rebirth – $30 (40 percent off)
  • Final Fantasy XVI – $25 (50 percent off)
  • Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles – $35 (30 percent off)
  • NieR:Automata The End of YoRHa Edition – $16 (60 percent off)
  • Voice of Cards – $25 (50 percent off)
  • Collection of Mana – $16 (60 percent off)
  • Sea of Stars – $21 (40 percent off)
  • Atelier Marie Remake – $25 (50 percent off)
  • Dragon Quest XI – $20 (50 percent off)

I tried to stick to great JRPGs that are actually great deals right now, meaning at least around 50 percent off. Final Fantasy Tactics, Digimon Story Time Stranger, and Octopath Traveler 0 are very recent releases, so they aren’t quite as cheap. Still, 30 percent off isn’t bad and each of them would be toward the higher end of my ranking of the above picks. Collection of Mana is a personal favorite around this time of year, and unfortunately Visions of Mana, the recent series reboot, isn’t on sale.

These are all digital downloads, but a handful of JRPGs are also deeply discounted in physical form at the moment thanks to spring sales at Amazon and a few other places. The boxed version of Final Fantasy Tactics is only $25 for PS5 on Woot. The Switch physical version of Pokémon Legends: Z-A is only $45. And if you own a Switch 2 and somehow still haven’t played Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, it’s already on sale for just $30 a month after launch (game key card only, though).
