Are you curious about all the upgrades and abilities in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond? Samus Aran's trek across the planet of Viewros, naturally, leads her to ancient facilities and vast biomes. You're bound to acquire several power-ups as you explore these areas. Our guide has all the details that you need, as we list down the abilities that we obtained in the campaign in chronological order. Just be forewarned that there are minor spoilers ahead.

Psychic Crystal
- Location: Obtained in the Chrono Tower at the start of the campaign proper.
- Effect: This is the first Metroid Prime 4 ability that you receive just after the prologue. It allows you to switch to the Psychic Visor (X button) and fire a Psychic Beam (A or ZR buttons).

Psychic Glove
- Location: Found on a dais in Fury Green.
- Effect: Allows you to grasp and move Psychic Motes and related objects. This is done by pressing and holding the ZL button and moving the right thumbstick.

Missile Launcher
- Location: Found in Fury Green in the same area where you rescue Mackenzie.
- Effect: Fire a missile (R button).
Note: You can replenish your rockets by picking up ammo or by resting at save points. You should also acquire Missile Expansions to increase the maximum number of missiles that you can carry.

Control Beam
- Location: Found in Fury Green just after the bridge encounter. This particular area eventually turns into your base camp in the zone.
- Effect: Charge up your Psychic Beam (hold the A or ZR button), then steer the projectile using the right thumbstick.

Psychic Bomb
- Location: A reward after defeating the Carvex boss in Fury Green.
- Effect: This Metroid Prime 4 ability has a couple of uses when you transform into the Morph Ball (Y button):
- You can place down bomb charges that eventually explode. This is done by pressing the A button.
- Alternatively, you can hold down the A button to create a Psychic Mote. Then, when you activate your Psychic Visor, you can grab and throw the mote at devices.

Vi-O-La Suit
- Location: Can be obtained in Tower 1 of the Volt Forge once you've restored the power.
- Effect: Allows you to ride the Vi-O-La motorcycle. Press the start button to instantly make your vehicle materialize.

Psychic Boots
- Location: A reward for beating the Xelios boss in Volt Forge.
- Effect: Allows you to double jump and hop on top of Psychic platforms.

Fire Chip/Fire Shot
- Location: The Fire Chip can be obtained from a derelict transporter in Flare Pool. Once you have it, return to the base camp in Fury Green so Mackenzie can turn it into the Fire Shot.
- Effect: Press down on the D-pad to switch to the Fire Shot. This type of ammo causes targets to burn and melt.
Note: The Fire Shot is the first of several elemental weapons that you pick up in the game. To increase your maximum ammo capacity, you need to collect Shot Expansions.
These are the upgrades and abilities that we've found so far in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. We'll keep you posted once we discover others, so stay tuned.
