Amazon Prime 12 free games for April include XCOM, Total War

Shoot some aliens while waiting for new episodes of Invincible to drop

Amazon Prime members can get 12 free PC games this month. Unlike Sony's free PlayStation Plus games, which you can only play while your subscription is active, Amazon's free games come via redeemable codes from various PC gaming storefronts, like the Epic Games Store and GOG. You'll still own and have access to them even if your Amazon Prime subscription comes to an end.

April's free games are headlined by XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the seminal turn-based strategy game. Command your troops as you push back against an alien invasion. The code is for the Complete Pack edition, meaning you'll get three packs of DLC in addition to the base game.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is available to claim now via a GOG code. Total War: Pharaoh Dynasties is also available now through the Epic Games Store. They join some of March's additions that are still claimable, like TinyTina’s Assault on Dragon’s Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot and Total War: Rome 2 — Emperor Edition.
