Next week's Arc Raiders update may finally introduce what fans have been dreading: Shredders escaping from Stella Montis. A short teaser video posted to the official X page includes text revealing "someone forgot to close the Stella Montis doors on their way out." This strongly implies Shredders will be escaping the underground facility, as they are the only foe exclusively found on one map.

Fans have theorized for a while that Stella Montis is connected to Blue Gate via the underground tunnels, so that could also be confirmed in Tuesday's "Flashpoint" update, if Blue Gate is the only map they spread to. It's also highly likely that's the case, as Shredders are tough to take down, especially if you're new to the game, so it's unlikely we'll see them on Dam Battlegrounds or Buried City.

Fans aren't particularly impressed by the tease. There are countless replies asking for new Arc enemies, despite the fact that last month's "Shrouded Sky" update introduced both the Comet and the Firefly — two brand new foes — and April's Riven Tides update will be introducing a "new large Arc," according to the official roadmap. Riven Tides will also include an entirely new map, which will be the biggest new addition to the game since Stella Montis was added in late 2025.

That said, Shredders are difficult to fight if you're unfamiliar with their weaknesses, and it will make Blue Gate a tougher area to farm. On the plus side, if you're after their components, at least you don't need to risk going to Stella Montis, which is infamous for being a PvP hotspot.

"Flashpoint" will also include a new map condition, indicated with a lightning bolt on the roadmap. We're coming out the back of the Hurricane condition, which added intense, strong winds, so thunderstorms may be the next part of Mother Nature we need to contend with. A new player project is coming too, and an update to Scrappy, everyone's favorite pet rooster. And no doubt more quests too, as per usual.
