Activision has revealed the full roadmap and details for Season 3 of Black Ops 7 and Warzone on April 2. This new season of Call of Duty brings a new battle pass, more guns to unlock, additional maps, and more. Warzone's Verdansk gets a new point-of-interest at launch, Endgame goes free-to-play, and a new Zombies map arrives at the midseason update. All the major highlights of the new season can be found below.
New weapons to unlock

Season 3 is loaded with six free DLC weapons to unlock. Some weapons will be available in the battle pass and others will arrive later in the season.
The Season 3 arsenal includes:
- MK35 ISR assault rifle (Battle pass)
- VST submachine gun (Battle pass)
- Strider 300 sniper rifle (In-season challenge or event)
- 1911 pistol (In-season challenge or event)
- Siren special weapon (In-season challenge or event)
- Katana melee weapon (In-season challenge or event)
Additionally, the update will include new attachments such as an underbarrel shotgun for the Shadow SK sniper rifle and a spear gun for the X9 Maverick assault rifle.
New battle pass and BlackCell

As to be expected, there's a new battle pass to level up in Season 3. The battle pass features 119 pieces of unlockable content (excluding BlackCell) and includes three base weapons to unlock.
Cole "Javelin" Donovan is the headlining operator for the standard Season 3 battle pass. For BlackCell, the season's exclusive operator is a winged Valkyrie soldier. One Valkyrie is unlocked with the purchase of the BlackCell pass, and two additional Valkyrie variants are available to earn with in-game challenges. All three can be seen in the image above.
The paid $10 pass is needed in order to unlock all the standard pass rewards, and the $30 BlackCell bundle returns for those wanting even more cosmetics to unlock.
Purchasing the battle pass will offer the following instant-unlock rewards:
- 10% Battle Pass XP boost
- The "Grasp" operator skin for the new Javelin operator plus a BlackCell variant for those who purchase BlackCell
- The "Tally" legendary blueprint for the AK-27 assault rifle
- The "High Altitude" weapon charm
- The "Corvo" large decal
Players who purchase and complete the Season 3 battle pass will earn the following completion rewards:
- The "Riven" ultra operator skin for Javelin plus a BlackCell variant for those who purchase BlackCell
- The "Kinetic Demise" legendary blueprint for the Maddox RFB assault rifle
- 200 CoD Points
- The "Aerial Drop-In" animated calling card
- The "Regeneration" animated emblem
- "Near Death Experience" GobbleGums (x2)
New seasonal events
Zombies mode gets the Survivors of Ash challenge event, which allows players to earn new cosmetic rewards while playing the season's new Ashwood survival map. The rewards include camos, a weapon charm, shotgun blueprint, and more.
The Lost Outpost event is available to participate across all modes. Players will collect trophies dropped by eliminated enemies to earn new event rewards. The rewards include several cosmetics and the season's new Strider 300 sniper rifle.
Additional events will arrive with the midseason update.
New seasons of Ranked Play

New seasons of Ranked Play arrive in both multiplayer and Warzone. There are new seasonal rewards to earn for both modes.
For Warzone, Season 3 introduces map rotation for Ranked Play Resurgence. Players will be able to compete on both Haven's Hollow and Rebirth Island, and the map is randomly assigned each match.
Black Ops 7 multiplayer maps

Season 3 will introduce several multiplayer maps. Some of these are brand new and others are familiar classics from past Black Ops games.
The following maps are included with the launch of the season:
- Beacon (Brand-new 6v6 map)
- Abyss (Brand-new 6v6/2v2 map)
- Trident (Brand-new 20v20 Skirmish map)
- Plaza (BO2 remastered 6v6 map)
- Gridlock (BO4 remastered 6v6 map)
More maps arrive with the midseason update. This includes Onsen as a brand-new small map, and Hacienda and Summit arrive as remastered maps from past Black Ops games.
Free Run returns

In addition to the standard multiplayer maps, a special obstacle map arrives to Black Ops 7 with the midseason update. Ascent is an obstacle map designed specifically for the return of the Free Run mode from Black Ops 3.
Free Run is all about traversing an obstacle course as quickly as possible, and players will be able to test their movement skills across 10 zones within the Ascent map.
More multiplayer modes

A few familiar game modes return in Black Ops 7. Demolition arrives at launch, while Snipers-Only and the headshot-themed Aim High mode return later in the season.
The midseason update also includes two brand-new game modes with Heat Wave Havoc and Freeze Tag.
The Heat Wave Havoc limited-time mode challenges players to raise their "Heat Level" by supporting the team with non-lethal cooperative actions in a moshpit playlist of Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Hardpoint. Cooperative actions include revealing enemies, scrambling enemy radars, capturing objectives, and more.
Raising the Heat Level will provide players with the following bonuses:
- Low Heat: Faster Field Upgrade recharge.
- Medium Heat: Faster movement, sprint-to-fire speed, and mid-air mobility.
- Hot: Faster weapon reloads, ADS speed, and swap speed.
- Extra Hot: Equipment refills after eliminating enemies.
- Extra Extra Hot: Increased damage and score for headshots.
For Freeze Tag, players will now become frozen instead of being eliminated when dealt lethal damage. Freezing rival players will earn score points. Fellow teammates can save their incapacitated allies by reaching and defending their frozen forms, helping to unthaw them in time to rejoin the fight. The first team to reach the score limit wins.
Zombies gets more content

Season 3 launches with the Ashwood area of Ashes of the Damned as a new Survival map experience. Directed Mode is added for Season 2's Paradox Junction map.
Zombie Battle also arrives as a new mode for 2-4 players. This mode takes place in the starting arenas for each round-based map, and players can face off against up to three other players in a free-for-all where players share the same space while fighting off their own hordes.
Unlike the Grief mode in Black Ops 6, players can't hurt each other or use any equipment to affect them. Door Buys, Exfil, and GobbleGum features are restricted, and the last player standing wins.
New Zombies map at the midseason update

A new round-based Zombies map arrives with the midseason "Reloaded" update. The map is called Totenreich, and it's briefly teased as a remote Norwegian fishing town trapped in time after experiments warped the entire island into the Dark Aether.
Endgame goes free-to-play and adds new content

Black Ops 7's campaign Endgame mode goes free-to-play for a limited time. Endgame mode will be accessible from the Warzone menu. Activision didn't detail how long this free access will last, but players can squad up for Endgame without any purchase necessary for a limited time.
By default, players who do not own Black Ops 7 will have four Endgame operators to choose from: Mason, Anderson, 50/50, and Samuels.
Operations is a new feature added into Endgame, which is a series of strict objectives designed to be cleared across multiple matches. Season 3 kicks off with Operation Poison Pill, and there are Operation rewards for each objective completed. These rewards include a new weapon blueprint, emblem, double XP token, loading screen, and more.
A new skill track and abilities are also included with Season 3.
Warzone's Verdansk gets a new POI

Launch Pad arrives as a new major point-of-interest for Verdansk with the launch of Season 3. Launch Pad is a massive complex with multiple structures, and it's located near the shoreline just south of Promenade.
Big map rotation for Warzone

Finally, players can experience a rotation of maps for big map battle royale. Avalon, the Black Ops Royale map, will be added into a map rotation with Verdansk. For standard battle royale, Avalon will feature Warzone's Gulag to give players a second chance in the fight. There will be a rotation of three different Gulag variants.
New movement mechanics and equipment

Previously limited to Black Ops Royale, the grapple-hook and wall-jump mechanics are being added to both standard battle royale and Resurgence modes.
Black Ops 7's EMP grenades arrive at the launch of Season 3, while the cluster grenades will be added with the midseason update.
The midseason also includes a new equipment type for Warzone called Spikes. Spikes are described as experimental military stimulants that enhance a player's operator, and these are purchased from Buy Stations.
Players can from three types of Spikes:
- Armor Salvaging: Immediately gain an equipped armor plate after eliminating an enemy
- Prone Firing: Greatly reduce weapon recoil while crouched or prone
- Handicraft: Regenerate equipment over time
