A lot went into the creation of Resident Evil Requiem, from the large maps to the horrific scares that lurk around every corner. There is something for all the Resident Evil fans in this game, especially if you have been around since the beginning of the series.

Let's dive beneath the surface and take a look at the details that you might not have noticed during your first playthrough. There are tiny changes and small interactions that you don't pick up on unless you play the game multiple times over. Did you see that the singing zombies act differently depending on what character you are controlling in Resident Evil Requiem? There's plenty more than that.

10 Scrubbing Maid

Scrub Your Face Off

Resident Evil Requiem Details Maid Scrubbing

There are two maid zombies lurking around the halls of the care facility in Resident Evil Requiem. The first of these is located in the bathroom, and she is constantly scrubbing the mirrors, trying to get that spotless shine.

The second maid zombie is the one we want to focus on. This zombie can be found in the waiting room. Should you run into her, and let her get her hands on you, she will attempt to scrub your face off with her hand. This is a creepy reminder of how she used to clean the facility when she was alive.

9 Emily Reads Village of Shadows

A Nod to Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Requiem Details Emily Reading

If you've played Resident Evil Village, then you probably remember the book that is read in the game's introduction. This book is called Village of Shadows, and it parallels the events of the Resident Evil Village story. A similar book can be found early in the game, and it relates to "The Girl," which chases you through the care facility.

When you meet Emily for the first time while playing as Grace, you will notice that she is reading a book. If you examine this book closely, you will notice that she is reading the same book from Resident Evil Village, translated in braille. This was caught by a Reddit user who translated the Braille letters and discovered the detail.

8 Requiem Has a Kick

Send Grace Flying

Resident Evil Requiem Details Requiem Gun

In Resident Evil Requiem, you get a gun called Requiem. Capcom hands you the most powerful gun in the game at the very beginning, but you barely have any ammo, and you don't want to let it go to waste.

This lack of ammo may make you tempted to ignore the gun completely until the end like I did during my first playthrough. While I had a blast using this powerful handcannon on later-game enemies, I missed a neat detail. The first time Grace fires this weapon, she is hit by the massive amount of recoil.

You can more greatly see the effect of this recoil in the third-person POV, where Grace's arms fly back, showing how inexperienced she is with powerful firearms.

Resident Evil Requiem Details Aiming Leon

It is easy to get caught up in the fear of Resident Evil Requiem and forget to look at the small details that are staring you in the face. If you slow down a bit, however, and take a look at the differences between Grace and Leon, you start to notice some interesting details.

For instance, Leon is very calm when aiming his weapons. He has been through this before and knows what to expect. Grace, on the other hand, is a nervous wreck, and when she holds her pistol, she can be seen shaking wildly. To add more to this detail, later in the game, Grace's nerves calm down, and she fires her weapon more calmly.

6 Would You Like Some Wine?

Tastes Like Blood

Resident Evil Requiem Details Sanguis Virginis

Inside Castle Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village, there is a puzzle that requires you to grab a bottle of wine and place it in a wine holder. It can't be just any wine, however, as it must be a bottle of Sanguis Virginis, which is found in the kitchen.

Strangely enough, this same wine makes an appearance in Resident Evil Requiem. When you enter the office that lowers down to the underground lab, you must open a fake bottle of wine. This bottle is the same type of wine from Resident Evil Village, and a nice reminder of Lady Dimitrescu.

The only difference between the two bottles is that the one in Resident Evil Requiem is missing the fancy adornment around the top. It also makes us wonder if Lady Dimitrescu is supplying wine to the care facility.

5 A Game of Roulette

And Maybe a Date?

Resident Evil Requiem Details Roulette Table

Admittedly, it is difficult to miss the large roulette table in the middle of the parlor of the care facility. That isn't the detail we are talking about here. Instead, we are talking about the numbers it lands on.

If you spin the roulette wheel, it will only land on the numbers 7, 15, and 29. If you happen to shoot one of these numbers before spinning the wheel, and the ball lands on the number, you will be rewarded with an Antique Coin. Additionally, many believe this could be Capcom revealing the date of the next mainline Resident Evil title, since the numbers create the date July 15, 2029.

4 Tyrants are Expensive

But Comes With a Free Coat

Resident Evil Requiem Details Mr X Cost

When you reach Ark, you will find various computers with information about the experiments. In case you ever wanted to purchase a bioweapon, one of the computers has the cost information for each of them. Fun fact: Lickers cost $14,000,000 each, and Leon takes out a ton of them in the story.

If you want a Tyrant of your very own, you will need to pay $120,000,000. While the number is incredibly high, you have to remember, Tyrants are some of the most difficult creatures to kill. Don't worry, each of the Tyrants you order comes with a free coat "for effective human disguise."

3 License Plate

Survived Four Games

Resident Evil Requiem Details License Plate

It is easy to see Leon's new Porsche and immediately write it off. After all, it's a fancy car in a video game, it's not something we haven't seen before. However, it does have a bit of a secret if you look closely.

The license plate on the back of Leon's fancy new ride reads "ND = 9624." This is not part of some special puzzle like many thought. Instead, it is a reference to the games that Leon has been in. So far, the man has survived Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 6, and now Resident Evil 9, and he is bound to be back for more.

2 Leon is Married

Who is His Lover?

Resident Evil Requiem Details Leon Walking Away

Leon has been a busy man. He has saved countless lives, and is seemingly always going after some sort of bioterrorism event. However, he has apparently had time to settle down and get married.

When he walks away from Grace at the end of the game, you can see him put something on his finger. Many speculated this was a ring, but it wasn't confirmed until fans went into the concept art and noticed that Leon does have a ring on his finger. Nobody knows yet who his partner could be, but many speculate that it is either Claire or Ada.

1 Hunk Confirmed

It's in the Files

Resident Evil Requiem Details Hunk Kill

Many were quick to assume that you fight Hunk as one of the bosses in Resident Evil Requiem. After all, the character looks identical to the mask-wearing soldier, and he has many of the same moves. One of the best details you can see during this fight is Hunk's signature neck snap. Of course, it requires you to get yourself killed to see the entire animation.

Now that it has been some time since Requiem was released, fans have been able to delve into the files to find out the truth. It turns out, this soldier was Hunk, as one of the files for the character is labeled as such. It turns out that the fans were right all along.
