This guide explains the fastest ways to get Abyss Artifacts in Crimson Desert.

In this guide, I'll show you where to find fishing rods, how to catch fish, and how to locate every type of fish in Crimson Desert.

Where to Find a Fishing Rod

On the Nas River, there is a fishing shop and a dock (seen above) where you can buy a fishing rod for just 15 copper. The merchant located here will also have several types of fish for sale.

If you haven't discovered these types of fish yet, there will be a question mark instead of a picture of the fish, as seen in the picture above.

It's important to hover over every type of fish, as it will give you knowledge of each species, and you'll be able to use that to locate them—I'll teach you how to do that later in the guide.

How to Catch a Fish

Casting your line and hooking a fish is easy, but reeling them in will be difficult if you don't know the trick. Once a fish has taken the bait, it will begin to swim furiously in an attempt to escape. The trick is to pull your rod in the opposite direction the fish is swimming in order to tire it out (seen above), but make sure you're not reeling in during this time or your rod will break.

Once the fish is tired, the splashing you could see before will stop, and the water will be calm (seen above). This is your time to reel in the fish. Sometimes the fish will gain a second wind before you get your hands on i,t and you'll need to repeat the process.

The further you cast your line, the longer it will take to reel in your fish.

If you're hooked on fishing and looking to take it to the next level, you can find a blueprint for the fine fishing rod (seen above) at a back alley shop just south of the House of Healing.

How to Find Fish

Whether you're looking for small freshwater fish like bass or large saltwater fish like the crimson opaleye, there's a great way to locate them. First, you'll need to open the knowledge tab, select creatures, and then select aquatic creatures (seen above).

As long as you've discovered the fish species and attained the knowledge, they will appear in this tab, and you'll be able to find their location by selecting open map, as seen in the picture above.

This will give you an exact location of where to go to have the best chance of reeling one in. Keep in mind, not every fish you hook at these locations will be the one you're searching for, so it may take a few tries.

Now you have an efficient way to find specific fish, cook meals that replenish large amounts of HP, make money, or feed your fish to stray cats to gain their trust and adopt them.
