Christian has over three years of experience writing in the gaming industry, including guides and reviews, for publications such as DualShockers, Attack of the Fanboy, and PC Invasion. He has been an avid gamer since he was a kid, viewing it as the best possible art form and medium. Some of his favorite genres include Survival Horror, Soulslikes, and RPGs, but he finds joy in almost any type of game.
As you progress through Crimson Desert, the difficulty begins to increase. To keep up with the game's difficulty, you need to find strong armor and weapons, some of which are very well-hidden. The Darkbringer is the perfect example.
The Darkbringer is a powerful two-handed weapon in Crimson Desert, coming equipped with an ability that can deal passive damage to surrounding enemies. It's very useful against hordes and crowd control, making it an essential weapon to pick up as soon as possible.

This guide explains how to complete the Spire of Insight puzzle in Crimson Desert.
If you are searching for the Darkbringer but haven't had any luck, this guide is for you. Here's how to get the Darkbringer sword in Crimson Desert.
How to Get the Darkbringer Sword in Crimson Desert
There are two ways to get the Darkbringer sword in Crimson Desert. First, you can find the Darkbringer northwest of the Silver Wolf Mountains area of Pailune.
Go to the location shown in the image to find a large ditch with the skeletal remains of a giant beast. Inside the skeleton's mouth is the Darkbringer sword.
Keep in mind that this area is very close to the end of the map, so if you reach a point where the game says "can't enter this region," you know you have gone too far, and need to turn around.
Another way to get the Darkbringer sword is by defeating the Archon of Antumbra boss, part of the Antumbra Order side quest. After cleansing all Sanctums in the game, the Archon of Antumbra quest will become available in your journal, allowing you to track it and hunt it down.
It's important to note that the Archon of Antumbra is the hardest out of all the Sanctum bosses. It has a very high health pool, deals a ton of damage, and it can be tricky to read its attack patterns. In this case, I highly recommend having high health, stamina, and spirit before attempting to take it down.
The reward for defeating the Archon of Antumbra is the Darkbringer sword, as well as the full Ator armor set.

Darkbringer Sword Explained
The Darkbringer is a two-handed weapon in Crimson Desert that has five Abyss Core Sockets available. The two Darkbringers you can find in the game already come equipped with Attack Speed 1, Critical Rate 1, and Ator's Orb Abyss Cores. In other words, the two Darkbringers are completely identical.
The standout feature of the Darkbringer sword is its Ator's Orb Abyss Core. Ator's Orb is a special ability that summons orbs around the player whenever they execute a heavy attack or finishes combos. These orbs then hone into enemies and deal additional damage, similar to the popular Crow's Caller ability.
The Darkbringer is found with a solid attack power of 22, which is great for the early and mid-game. However, I recommend attaching Destruction Abyss Cores to the available slots to increase its overall attack power as you progress further into the game.
Remember, if you decide that you don't want to use the Darkbringer, but want to use the Ator's Orb Abyss Core, then you can extract it and place it on your current weapon by visiting any witch in the game.
