Crimson Desert: Where to Find Gold Bars

There are plenty of open world games where money doesn't matter much, but that is not the case with Crimson Desert. Since the only way to heal is through food, and it's easier to purchase food than cook it constantly, you want to have enough Silver to afford food in large quantities.

The same goes for upgrading weapons and armor. Some of the materials required for these upgrades can be purchased from merchants, and it's much easier to purchase them, rather than looking for the materials out in the world.

Simply put, having a ton of Silver will make your journey through Crimson Desert much more manageable. To get a ton of Silver quickly, you want to find Gold Bars and either sell or invest them. Read further to learn where to get Gold Bars in Crimson Desert.

Where to Find Gold Bars in Crimson Desert

Gold Bars can be found in multiple places throughout the massive world of Crimson Desert. However, a sure fire way to find one is by looting the fireplace in Lioncrest Manor in Hernand.

Another way to get Gold Bars is by stealing them from nobles walking around Hernand. This method is not guaranteed as not all nobles carry around Gold Bars, but a good number of them do. Keep in mind that in order to steal items, you need to wear a mask, which you can purchase from any black market merchant.

The absolute best way to get Gold Bars in Crimson Desert is by crafting them. In order to craft Gold Bars, you must first find the recipe which this guide details in the next section.

How to Get the Gold Bar Crafting Recipe

Players can find the Gold Bar crafting recipe on the third floor of the Spire of Insight. If you aren't familiar with the Spire of Insight, you can find its location shown in the image attached above.

To reach the third floor of the Spire of Insight, you must first solve its puzzle, which we have a full guide for on the site. Once you reach the third floor of the Spire of Insight, you can find the Gold Bar crafting recipe taped to the wall.

When you grab the Gold Bar crafting recipe, make sure to actually examine it, so your character learns about its recipe. The recipe for a Gold Bar is the following: 3x Brimstone, 3x Mercury, and 10x Iron Ore. After getting the appropriate materials for Gold Bars, you can craft them in any Cauldron you come across.

How to Use Gold Bars

While your initial thought may be to sell Gold Bars to any merchant for 190 Silver a piece, that's actually not the smartest thing to do. You should really look into investing or trading Gold Bars at a bank, rewarding you with a ton of Silver. Banks can be found in any major city and are represented by the icon shown in the image below.

Trading in a Gold Bar to a bank will reward you with 500 Silver, an incredible amount of money that will last you a very long time in Crimson Desert. Having this much Silver will make it easier to purchase food and other goodies from merchants to help you survive against the game's bosses.

As for investing the Gold Bars, you must first open a Strongbox at a bank for 100 Silver. After doing that, you have the option to invest a Gold Bar by choosing one of three risk options: Low, Medium, or High.

The risk option you choose will determine your likelihood of making good returns. For example, low risk reduces the chance of you losing money, but also has smaller returns. Meanwhile, choosing high risk increases the chance of you losing money, but could possibly reward you a boatload of Silver.
