Glenbright Manor basement puzzle walkthrough in Crimson Desert

2 hours ago 1

The Glenbright Manor in Crimson Desert is home to many mysteries. You'll first visit the location during the "Traces in the Manor" main story quest, and you'll notice a bunch of suspicious items like the ruby-set golden dagger that seem like they could be part of a puzzle (because they are).

The puzzle itself is rather convoluted, as you have to closely scrutinize random pieces of furniture and decoration to progress. However, all the hassle is worth putting up with, as the end result is the first step toward getting a new mode of transportation plus a useful recipe.

Below, we explain how to solve the Glenbright Manor puzzle, so you can enter the manor basement and claim your reward.

How to solve the Glenbright Manor puzzle in Crimson Desert

You visit Glenbright Manor as part of the "Traces in the Manor" quest in Crimson Desert, which is after you rescue Yann from the House of Healing. However, there's no clue that points you to the manor's hidden basement and the treasure inside. Before you start, it's important to note that you should attempt this puzzle during the "Traces in the Manor" quest, otherwise the Grace's soldiers will respawn and you'll have to either sneak in or defeat them all again.

With that settled, enter the manor and turn right. You'll see a large portrait of two jousting knights in the little passage to the left of the stairs. Approach it, and walk against the wall until it revolves and reveals a small hidden room. Grab the Glenbright Manor basement key from the table (and the money pouches, since no one's left at the manor who would miss the cash).

Head upstairs next. You'll see a little alcove with a weapon mounted on the wall. Grab the ruby-set golden dagger (this doesn't count as theft, if you're worried about your regional reputation). Move along the landing, and open the wardrobe to reveal a handwheel. Rotate the wheel until it reflects a beam of light onto the circular surface of the large statue nearby. This will reveal another alcove with a sapphire-set golden dagger, so make sure to grab that.

The count's chamber is at the end of this corridor. Head inside, view the memory, and speak to the servant near the window to progress the main story. Then, examine the fireplace by holding LB/L1 or Ctrl. Interact with it to slot in both daggers, and a secret doorway will open to your right.

Go inside, descend the ladder, and grab the Cloudcart blueprint on the floor. You won't be able to make it yet, but once you have the right materials and Greymanes for the job, you can use this blueprint to build a Cloudcart, aka a hot air balloon.

Turn around, and use the Glenbright Manor basement key to unlock the door next to the table. On another table inside, you'll find the alchemy recipe for Meliara's Lesser Elixir. It's a useful little potion that increases your maximum health and your attack speed for five minutes, definitely worth making before tackling a tough enemy or boss, like the Reed Devil. You can also loot the rest of the basement, including a strongbox, before leaving, if you need some extra money.
