Finding the Range & Rifle magazines serves two equally important purposes in Gray Zone Warfare.

The first one is obvious: it's drip or drown here in the jungles of Lamang, and there is nothing sadder than showing up to the party at Fort Narith with something like a stock SKS.

Enemies in this game can smell fear, but most importantly, they also sense a lack of aesthetic prowess. On top of that, if you have a weakness for deep jungle fighting, having a camouflaged weapon works a lot better than the standard black or tan one, especially if you coordinate it with the other items in your loadout.

Past that, there is another practical reason to go chasing Range & Rifle magazines in the game, and that is skipping the tedious grind to upgrade your standing with the vendors in-game.

Any weapon you unlock with the Range & Rifle magazine tasks is available to you immediately, regardless of your standing with the traders. Crucially, this extends to magazines, so even if you are using the stock version of a weapon, you can buy the high-capacity mags from the special Range & Rifle unlocks at any time.

For example, picking up the Black Hawk M14 in Hunter's Paradise will let you buy 20-round box magazines from Banshee at level 1, even though the standard equivalent mags are typically locked to level 3 standing. This availability is the difference between a weapon being a regular workhorse and a locker queen.

All Range & Rifle Magazine Locations

Here are the locations of all Range & Rifle magazines on the map, and how to enter their respective areas.

All quests involving the Range & Rifle magazines reset upon death, after which you will need to wait a cooldown period before picking it up again.

If you die and the weapon you are interested in is still in the 'Failed' section of the task separator, give it an hour, then complete quests in the same area of operations. Eventually, the game will repopulate this sector with the Range & Rifle magazine quest you need.

If you are restarting a Range & Rifle quest, you can wait until you reach the magazine area to accept it. That way, if you die en route, it won't lock it behind a cooldown again.

The green camouflage M14 fitted with a 16-inch barrel, 20-round magazine, and Specter DR sight can be unlocked via a Range & Rifle magazine in the Weapon Storage room of Hunter's Paradise.

The magazine is on a bench next to the locker on the northwestern corner of the room.

This area requires the Hunter's Paradise Weapon Storage Key (HP Wep) to unlock. It is available as a static spawn in the Hunter's Paradise eastern offices or the southern restaurant, and also as a random spawn in the inventory of enemies in the area.

.300 Blackout

The first custom weapon you should get in Midnight Sapphire is the Ghost Nomad SIG MCX.

The corresponding Range & Rifle magazine is located on a table in the antechamber by the restaurant on the second floor of the Midnight Sapphire.

Go up the stairs from the reception, then turn right. The table with the magazine will be to your left, surrounded by armchairs.

Rather fittingly, the Range & Rifle magazine to unlock the camouflaged M700 is on the roof where the LAF snipers hang out.

Go up through the service stairs, then turn to face south-southeast. Walk all the way to the guard rail, then look to your left to find a small camping table with an ashtray and the magazine in question.

The sole camo weapon you can find in the Ban Pa area of operations is also the cheapest in the game.

You can find this in a hut northwest of LZ Oscar 2. Though the area is only defended by a small group of pirates, exercise extreme caution on your way in, as the trails leading to the hut are booby-trapped.

The door of the hut is locked, but you can kick it open. The magazine is lying on the floor next to a sleeping bag.

Tiger Bay

Banshee

$6.4k

This is a quick way to unlock the best CQB weapon in the game, and the best part is, it comes fully kitted out with a silencer and extended mags for a fair price.

The Range & Rifle magazine to unlock the Sentinel Company MP7A2 is located in a camping area directly west of landing zone Juliett 4, next to COP Gladius.

Approaching from the south, after you dispatch the bandits in the area, look to your left for a covered building. The magazine is on the couch by the western wall.

The Silent Watch SVD is arguably the hardest one to find here, as the Tiger Bay Mall is one of the most contested and tight areas in the game.

The Range & Rifle magazine is located on the southern half of the mall, on the eastern row of stores, on the first floor. Entering the mall from the western side access, run across to the Lamtel sign and enter the store to its left. Expect one to two LAF soldiers inside.

Head behind the counter and enter the door to the right, then turn left to find the small office. The magazine is on a bookshelf next to the frame.

Gunny's Mossberg 590 in Raven Team camo is possibly the most remote quest item you'll ever need in this game.

Head to landing zones Lima 2 or Mike 3, to the south of COP Titan, then follow the river south until you come across a small wooden bridge.

Cross it to the west side to find a small encampment. The magazine is located in a hut due south of the bridge, on top of a small wooden desk.

Fort Narith

Vulture

20 rounds

7.62x51mm NATO

$17.8k

The AK-308 is one of the best rifles in the game, which makes its limited availability all the more frustrating. Fortunately, you can easily get around that via a short trip to Lamang's very own Disneyland, Fort Narith Air Base.

The Range & Rifle magazine you need to unlock it is in the brig, 'conveniently' nested between the infirmary, the main entrance, and the HQ building.

The safest route in my experience is to jump the corner gate at the northwestern end of the runway, then move to the road leading up to the target building. Expect some fire from the armory bunker, typically with two soldiers by the truck. The brig normally has one soldier inside and another two by the tent outside of it.

Once you enter, turn left and keep left until you see a locked room. Kick the door to open it. The Range & Rifle magazine is below the coffee machine to the left of the door.

Unlike other traders, Vulture is only accessible at select major COPs. To avoid bouncing around different based blindly, check out DamnitBennet's excellent Where is Vulture tracker.

The blueprint for the only camouflaged AR-15 in the game can be found on the second floor of the Alpha barracks in Fort Narith, the southernmost barracks building opposite the infirmary. Expect up to five enemies inside, including three on the second floor, plus soldiers firing from other buildings. In other words, stay clear of the windows.

After entering the Alpha barracks, head up the stairs, then turn left. Go all the way to the end of the corridor to find the desk with the Range & Rifle magazine, by the door of room A206.
