How to Beat The Forge Master in Super Meat Boy 3D

You've already checked Sawhalanthropus and Mr. Filthy off your boss list in Super Meat Boy 3D. Up next, and after conquering the platforming levels in The Forge, it's time for your next big baddie battle. This time, it's the aptly named Forge Master.

Not to freak you out, but this is definitely the hardest boss you've encountered in Super Meat Boy 3D yet, and I hope you brought your running shoes. Kind of like the first boss in the game, this is another chase sequence.

The only difference is that this time, The Forge Master will be much more hot on your heels, up close, and personal.

As is the trend in Super Meat Boy 3D to this point, the chase sequence with The Forge Master is kind of more about memorizing routing and safe zones more than anything else, since this game doesn't have any combat at all.

Because of this, I've included a video above of how I outran The Forge Master. Use this to get a better visual idea of how to survive this fight. The most important thing is to keep moving, as he will catch you very quickly if you stand around for even a second.

How to Beat The Forge Master

First, we're moving left to right. This is where you'll first learn that The Forge Master has a giant sword he'll swing, and the area of impact will be shown by arrows on the ground. When a single arrow shows up, simply get to the other side immediately to dodge a vertical slice.

When both tracks on the ground show arrows, that means The Forge Master is launching a horizontal slice, which has to be jumped over. The timing here is very tight. As soon as the double arrows show up, you'll need to jump immediately.

There are also several walls that you need to jump dash to break through, so be ready to do so.

During this side-scrolling sequence, there are also balls of lava that will launch on the ground, designated with a marker on the ground where they'll land. Their landing spaces always alternate, so zigzag between them in these moments.

Eventually, you'll reach a giant red button. Step on it, then wall jump up the exploding TV screens.

Next, we have a section where you're running down while The Forge Master is chasing you from the top of the screen. He'll do sword slices here too, so dodge accordingly.

He'll also launch two giant molten orbs at you as well, which you will have to jump over just before they make contact with you. Make sure you're still running down as you jump over these to keep your momentum up.

Next is another red button, followed by another jump up some exploding TVs. Be quick.

Finally, there's a section where we're now traveling up with The Forge Master at the top of the screen. Don't get close, and don't panic. Simply dodge his final sword slices, and you win!
