Call of Duty Season 4 Reloaded is live in Black Ops 7, bringing the brand-new Kowakujo map to Zombies. This map is set at Takeo's family castle, and the Japanese setting includes a Wonder Weapon themed around the Legend of the Nekomata, which is a two-tailed cat spirit. Yes, your Wonder Weapon for Kowakujo is an actual cat. In this guide, we'll show you how to complete all the steps to gain access to this unique Nekomancer Wonder Weapon in Kowakujo.
Kowakujo mapNekomancer Wonder Weapon
The Nekomancer Wonder Weapon can be acquired by completing a hidden in-game quest, which we walk you through in the steps below.
It's possible this weapon can also be obtained through the Mystery Box if you're lucky enough. The Wonderbar Gobblegum will guarantee you get a Wonder Weapon on your next spin, but other Wonder Weapons are also in the box, reducing your chances of getting the map's Nekomancer Cat Wonder Weapon here.
Turn on the power
To start the Wonder Weapon quest, you'll want to work your way through the Kowakujo map to turn on the power and unlock Pack-a-Punch. Black Ops 7 includes quest markers to guide you through the steps needed to do this. So, just follow the orange markers on your map.
Once Pack-a-Punch is unlocked, your orange quest markers disappear, but this means you can now work through the rest of the hidden steps detailed below.
Collect the quest parts
You'll need to collect three crafting parts: The Furin, Karakuri, and the Maneki-neko. These parts can be collected in any order, and they each have three possible spawn points. If you have teammates, you can split up the work, and you can also have someone skip down to the next step required for getting the cat in the cage.
Furin
Staging Area Furin Bell locationThe Furin is a bell-shaped part that can be found hanging in the following locations:
Staging Area: Stand in the Staging Area with your back to the Stamin-Up perk machine. It could be hanging down from the doorway of the building you're facing.
Training Area: Head to the Warden 308 Wall Buy in the Training Area. The bell could be hanging up in the top right corner above this weapon Wall Buy.
Stables: In the Stables, look with your back facing the Arsenal machine. There's a building across from it that's partially collapsed. The bell can spawn on the right side of the doorway.
Karakuri
Workshop Karakuri doll locationThe Karakuri part is a small Japanese doll that can be found sitting in the following locations:
Storage Rooms: Inside Storage Rooms, the doll can spawn on a table across from the room's Wall Buy.
Storage Rooms: Also Storage Rooms, the doll can be sitting on the floor in a pile of ashes across from the PhD Flopper perk machine.
Workshop: The doll can spawn in Workshop, and it will be sitting by a basket near the windows at the bottom of the staircase leading up to the upper level.
Maneki-Neko
Kitchens Maneki-Neko locationThe Maneki-Neko is the Japanese lucky cat statue. It can be found sitting in the following locations:
Gatehouse: Head to the Speed Cola perk machine in Gatehouse. Look in the small room to the right of the perk machine, and the cat can spawn on a wooden box sitting against a wall.
Kitchens: The cat can spawn on a wooden barrel opposite the Double Tap perk machine in Kitchens.
Kitchens: Also in Kitchens, the cat can spawn in the corner to the left of the Mystery Box spawn.
Craft the Maneki-Neko tactical equipment
Crafting bench location in WorkshopUsing the three parts you just collected, you'll want to head to a crafting bench in Workshop. This is not one of the regular crafting benches where you can make loadout equipment. Instead, you're looking for a similar bench right beside the Vulture Aid perk machine, as shown in the image above.
Interact with the bench to automatically start crafting a tactical grenade shaped like a Maneki-Neko cat. This works just like a Monkey Bomb, but don't use it right away. Save this for a later step. If you accidentally use it, you'll need to head back to the crafting bench where you originally built it to craft another. It will cost 500 salvage to re-craft each time.
Collect the Cat in the Cage
You can technically do this step early, so you don't need to have the Maneki-Neko tactical equipment crafted yet.
Cat cage locationFor this step, you will need the PhD Flopper perk. Head to the tree in Tenshu Entrance, and face away from the Mule Kick perk machine. Look up to find a cat in a cage hanging from the building's rooftop. Either dolphin dive or wall jump under the cage, and the blast from PhD Flopper perk will knock the cage down.
You need to collect this item now. The next step sounds awful, but you need to toss the caged cat in lava. This can be any of the lava pools on the map. Don't worry about the cat, though. This is a powerful supernatural cat, and it will just swim through the lava for now.
Reveal paw prints
Paw prints located in the doorway from Staging Area to Stables This next step can be annoying, especially if you're playing solo, as you need to kill zombies in four different locations to find an area where glowing red paw prints will spawn. This is going to be random each match, so you'll always need to kill zombies by these four locations until you get cat paw prints to spawn.
Kill zombies in the following doorways:
- Doorway going from Central Courtyard to Kitchens
- Doorway from Kitchens to Flower Gardens
- Doorway from the Staging Area to Stables
- Doorway at Training Area (the one south of the Warden 308 Wall Buy)
The glowing cat paw prints are fairly noticeable, as shown in the image above.
You need to follow the direction the paw prints are facing, and keep killing zombies to get more paw prints, which will eventually lead you to a location with glowing paw prints in a circle. The part can be tough solo, and you can't use decoy grenades to keep zombies from overwhelming you, because you need the Maneki-Neko tactical equipment you're already holding. If you have teammates, it is helpful to have them keep some zombies away for the time being.
Tossing the Maneki-Neko at the circle of paw printsOnce you're led to the circle of paw prints, toss the Maneki-Neko tactical equipment onto the circle. This will turn the Maneki-Neko equipment into a live cat. Unfortunately, an Abomination enemy (that giant Zombies monster with the three mouths) will spawn and eat the cat. You'll need to kill the Abomination to continue. Target the creature's mouths when they glow purple.
Find the cat
Highlighted floorboards and a sleeping catUnfortunately, killing the Abomination doesn't return the cat back to you. The cat has gone into hiding, and you'll need the Death Perception perk to track it down. You also need to be sneaky for this quest step.
There are audio cues for a snoring/purring cat when you get close to the correct area, and you'll see the white cat curled up in a ball. Death Perception highlights squeaky floorboards to avoid.
Sneak by crouch walking and avoiding the highlighted boards. Avoid shooting your gun as well. You'll eventually sneak close enough to interact with and pick up the sleeping cat. It's really hard to see in the image above, as the rooms are very dark, but the boards are highlighted and the cat is in the corner.
Check the following three areas:
- Kitchens: Found to the right of Double Tap
- Kitchens: In right corner near of the Mystery Box spawn location
- Training Area: In the interior portion of Training Area
If you or a teammate step on one of these boards, you'll scare the cat off. This means you'll need to progress to the next round before you can try again.
Carrying the cat to Pack-a-PunchAlso, don't drop the cat. It gives you the prompt showing you that you can drop the cat. I did this to fight off zombies, thinking I could just pick the cat back up after, but the cat ran away. Not sure if this step is bugged, but I never got the cat to come back even by advancing the rounds and trying to catch it again. It just didn't respawn in any of the three areas.
This means you can't swap to a gun or melee weapon, and you're defenseless against the horde. You'll want to head straight to the Pack-a-Punch machine.
Take the cat to the World Seed
With the cat in hand, you now need to take it to the World Seed. This is the large seed on the pedestal by the Pack-a-Punch machine.
Interact with the pedestal to deposit the cat. This causes the seed to start sending pulse waves around the area. These pulses can damage you, so you'll want to stay back until the fifth pulse.
Pulses from the World SeedBasically, you can approach the seed and damage it after every five pulses. Just run circles around the room, count the pulses, and melee the seed. Damage it after every five pulses until it drops the cat as the newly formed Nekomancer Wonder Weapon.
Pick up the cat after the World Seed explodesPick up the cat, and you're now using a supernatural animal as a weapon against the undead.
How to use the Nekomancer Wonder Weapon
The cat glows when Pack-a-PunchedThe Nekomancer Wonder Weapon has three different actions.
- Spirit Bait (R2) Spirit Bait is the main firing type, which shoots spirit pulses at enemies to damage them
- Hairball (L2) hold L2 down to build up a charged hairball shot for a more powerful, singular blast
- Nekopunch (Circle on PlayStation or B on Xbox) The Nekopunch melee attack is the cat scratching at the zombies
You can also Pack-a-Punch the cat just like any other weapon. Then, you get an even more powerful feline and additional ammo.
