There's no denying that the bosses of Elden Ring Nightreign are some of the best and most difficult encounters that FromSoftware has ever created. After all, beasts like Adel, Baron of Night, still leave us quivering in our boots.

A detailed strategy guide on how to defeat the Everdark Sovereign version of the Equilibrious Beast.

If you have started the Forsaken Hollow DLC, you have not only seen the new map, locations, and enemies, but you have probably seen the Night Lord Expedition called the Balancers, also known as Weapon-Bequeathed Harmonia.

This boss can be very daunting, and it will feel like it is fairly unbeatable, but we will break down how you can defeat the Balancers in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Elden Ring Nightreign Balancers Boss Entrance

The Balancers Night Lord is made up of multiple valkyries clad in white armor. With several bosses on the field, it can be difficult to manage all of them at once.

You will want to ensure you have a strong team composition going into this fight, as it is key to victory.

  • Wylder: This class is perhaps the strongest damage dealer in the game, and when built correctly, he can easily take down foes with little effort. This will be key for the boss. Since the Balancers is made up of several enemies, you will want someone who can deal a lot of damage quickly to take out the individual enemies.
  • Scholar: The new class is more or less the lynch pin in this composition, and this is because he offers some amazing buffs, can debuff the enemies in the fight, and his ultimate art can save everyone's lives. The Scholar's ultimate art allows him to distribute the damage taken by each enemy among all of them. When combined with Wylder's damage-dealing abilities, this will ensure that you can damage all the enemies at once, taking them down more quickly.
  • Undertaker: The second Nightfarer that was added with the Forsaken Hollow DLC, Undertaker is a great damage dealer who can also take advantage of her teammates using their ultimate arts. Each time someone uses their ultimate art, Undertaker can use hers, allowing your team to deal more damage.

As a side note, you can replace Undertaker with a strong tank such as Raider or Guardian, as they can both defend against the valkyries and draw attention away from the other players.

Balancers Weakness and Preparation

Elden Ring Nightreign Balancers Boss Description

As with all the Night Lords, Nightreign will tell you ahead of time what the boss is weak to. For instance, the Fissure in the Fog boss is weak to fire.

In the case of the Balancers, they are weak to the sleep effect. This is also the only boss who is weak to the sleep affliction, making it rather unique.

While exploring the map, be on the lookout for any location that offers weapons and items that apply the sleep status, as these will be very useful during the fight.

Other items that you will want to be on the lookout for are Boiled Prawns, Crab, and Turtle Necks, as these will increase your defense and stamina. You will also want Exalted Flesh for an increase to your physical attack power.

Balancers Moveset

The Balancers boss is interesting because it consists of several enemies who share one health pool. However, each of the enemies has the same moveset, with only one standing out in the second phase.

Moveset

Description

Holy Barrage

A valkyrie imbues her spear with holy damage before stabbing forward multiple times. Typically, a five or six stab combo.

Spear Swing

A valkyrie swipes horizontally with her spear. This can be done once or twice.

Holy Spears

A valkyrie kneels and summons multiple spears that shoot out of the ground in a circle around her.

Bombardment

The valkyries fly into the air, raining holy damage down like bombs in lines around the arena. This ends with a large AOE centered around the primary valkyrie.

Crucifixion

A valkyrie lifts you into the air before stabbing you with her spear and tossing you aside.

Holy Onslaught

The primary valkyrie performs a combo of spear swings and slams with a holy imbuement that causes AOE bursts on contact.

Summon Spear Lines

A valkyrie kneels and summons a line of spears that burst from the ground. This can happen in multiple directions at once.

Divebomb

The primary valkyrie divebombs a player and causes an AOE explosion.

How to Defeat the Balancers Boss

The Balancers is a tough boss to defeat, but it can be done with some good team coordination. When you enter the fight, you will be greeted by several valkyries.

The individual valkryies aren't very difficult to defeat, but each teammate will end up with two or three attacking them. Stay on your toes and dodge the attacks while using your ultimate arts to deal large chunks of damage to them.

Each valkyrie should go down relatively easily with little issue, but it is important to keep them separated as much as you can, as you don't want to deal with too many of them at one time.

Once you have defeated the first wave of valkyries, the boss fight truly kicks off, and the second phase begins. When the second phase starts, one of the valkyries will begin to glow with a pink aura. This is the primary valkyrie, and the one who will deal the most damage to you.

Each of the valkyries has an individual health bar that contributes to the total boss health, similar to the Godskin Duo boss fight. You can kill one valkyrie and still have plenty of health left for the boss. Once all of them have been defeated, the fight will be over.

When the second phase begins, the valkyries will perform their most deadly attack, the Bombardment. This is marked by the valkyries flying off in different directions, causing trails of explosions to fire off across the arena, and ending with a bombardment of explosions in the center.

Stay out of the line of fire as much as possible and stand clear of the center of the arena where the primary valkyrie is. Once the attack is over, you don't need to worry about much that is outside the normal from the first phase.

During the second phase, I recommend splitting up, with one player focusing on the primary valkyrie and the other two taking care of the smaller valkyries. The smaller ones will go down easier and leave you less to worry about when they are gone.

If you kill the primary valkyrie, the enhancement will be shifted to another valkyrie who is still alive. Killing the primary is good for a brief reprieve, but it won't solve your problems.

Scholar is great for this fight because he can use his ultimate art to help disperse the damage to more of the enemies. Along with this, he can use his character skill to apply debuffs to the valkyries and buffs to his allies.

Keep applying the pressure to the smaller valkyries while maintaining a distraction on the primary. After a while, all of them should be defeated, and you can add this to your list of Night Lords that you have killed.
