Hernand refinement tokens in Crimson Desert are coupons used to upgrade your equipment. Introduced in version 1.01.01, they are a special quest reward that'll save you a ton of grinding, though it is important to redeem your Hernand refinement tokens at the opportune moment.

Here's how to get and spend Hernand refinement tokens in Crimson Desert.

Hernand refinement tokens are, as the name suggests, used to refine weapons and armor. They will replace all refinement materials needed for one refinement action (one level-up).

Let's say you've got a level 3 Canta plate armor; normally, you would need five iron ore and four copper ore to upgrade the Canta plate armor from level 3 to level 4, but if you spend one Hernand refinement token, you don't need to spend any ore.

Although Hernand refinement tokens make it easier to upgrade gear, there are a few caveats to keep in mind:

Hernand refinement tokens are rare, so it's best to upgrade your gear with normal refinement materials as much as possible. Save the Hernand refinement tokens for your best pieces.
Hernand refinement tokens can only be used up to refinement level 4. If you want to reach refinement level 5 or higher, you must collect the necessary materials.
Remember that refinement requirements increase as your reach higher levels. To make the most of your Hernand refinement tokens, best to save them for level 3 to level 4 upgrades, as this would typically require more and rarer materials than a level 1 to 2 or level 2 to 3 upgrade.

To redeem your Crimson Desert Hernand refinement tokens, go to Turnali's smithy near Hernand Castle and choose the "refinement" option as usual.

As you scroll through your equipment, you will see the normal "refinement materials" tab on the left, the "same equipment" tab in the middle, and the "refinement token" tab on the right. Open the latter, make sure you've selected the item you'd like to refine, and pick the "refine" option to complete the upgrade.
