Hardwood is a material in Palworld that you need in order to make high quality wooden boards. This level 43 item is required to build items like the large and giant pouches, as well as structures like the drafting table and the Japanese-style structure set.
While hardwood is a special type of material, you can find it in multiple regions in the game. To help you, we've put this guide together explaining how to get hardwood in Palworld and some good farming locations.
How to get hardwood in Palworld
You can obtain hardwood by cutting down any trees found in extreme weather conditions, from the frozen trees in the snow-covered mountains to the dead trees in the volcanic regions.

While a regular axe cuts only one piece of hardwood, with a Pal Metal Axe, every swing will drop eight pieces of hardwood, speeding up the process.
Best hardwood farming spots
We've selected six different places where you can farm trees that will drop hardwood, so you can choose depending on where you are at the game.

By cutting any of these down, you can get hardwood and fiber. Fast travel to either the Secluded Cemetery statue at coordinates (-668,268) or Moonflower Tower Entrance (-607,219) to reach the area with the trees.

While there are trees throughout the desert, by fast traveling to the Anubis Dunes statue at (-127,-78), you will find yourself near some clusters of trees. This is a great farming area because you won't have to constantly call your mount to travel from one cluster to another.

However, unlike the previous regions, we recommend you visit two specific locations in this area to find trees. The first is near the Mount Obsidian - Midpoint statue at coordinates (-499,-439).

There's a good number of trees near the fast travel point, so you won't have to walk much or call for your mount, saving you some time.

This is one of the few places where the weather poses a real challenge, but if you have the right equipment to withstand the low temperatures, you'll have a free pass to one of the best hardwood farming spots. The entire central area is filled with frozen trees.
