Shane Limbaugh (He/Him) is a Contributor from the US. While he hasn't been writing about games for very long he has certainly been playing them. His degree in Game Design and Criticism let him better understand the fundamentals of the industry and the games themselves. There aren't many games he hasn't at least put hands on thanks to his time working at GameStop.
Esoteric Ebb has lots of spells for you to find, but arguably the most important one is Mage Hand. Any DnD player worth their salt knows that this spell can lead to some serious shenanigans, and in Esoteric Ebb, it's incredibly helpful.
Like most everything in the game, getting the spell isn't very straightforward. It isn't incredibly difficult, though, which is a nice change of pace. Your build won't make a difference here either, which is another major upside.

This guide will cover how to get Mage Hand in Esoteric Ebb, along with some reasons you'll probably want to get your hands on the spell. It can be pretty helpful throughout the game, so you might want to get it sooner rather than later.
How to Get Mage Hand?
It's actually a surprisingly easy cantrip to get your hands on, but you'll have to wait until day two unless you've managed to make it to the Undercoast on the first day. Getting that far, that fast, though, isn't recommended unless you're looking to speed-run the game.
To get Mage Hand, you'll need to get something else first: Comprehend Language. It's also a great spell to snag, since you can use it to decipher some other writing in the game. Once you've got that spell, you just need to find a specific book, and Mage Hand will be yours.
Getting Comprehend Language
As far as I've been able to find, there is only one way to get Comprehend Language, although there probably is a different way to get it. This way is the easiest.
You'll need to wait until day two and speak to Oyugüi, Kargameshian Vendor. She can be found next to the Pillar of Jor in Tolstad during the day; she's fairly easy to spot given the massive gargoyle behind her.
Oyugüi sells the scroll for 100 crowns, and on day two, that shouldn't be too big of an ask. You can look around a bunch of the interactable barrels and containers to find enough spare change to get there, no problem.
You can also pickpocket it off her if you have a high enough Dexterity and are willing to risk it.

Getting Mage Hand
This part shouldn't take you super long. Once you have Comprehend Language, you'll need to go somewhere that you can prepare it, one of the shrines lying about or your favorite, whatever works for you.
You'll be heading to Visken's place, the one where you woke up, and there is a shrine in the basement you can use to make it easier. Once it's prepared head into the area where Visken and his kobold hang out.
You should spot some books on the left-hand side. If you interact with the book on the stone table with the open book on it you should be prompted to cast Comprehend Language. That will add the cantrip to your spellbook and let you use it whenever you like.
