Video games based on LEGO sets, or at least LEGO adaptations of famous films, are a common sight today, but LEGO sets based on various video games are fairly rare.
While LEGO sets based on Super Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Animal Crossing are relatively popular on store shelves today, sets based on other video games don't stay on shelves for long and eventually become highly sought-after items for collectors.

These LEGO sets, when sealed, can often sell for hundreds of dollars more than their original price, occasionally getting close to $1,000, with even single minifigures going for hundreds of dollars alone on secondhand markets.
Not every hard-to-find video game LEGO set is necessarily expensive, but all of them would make standout display pieces for LEGO and video game collectors alike if people were able to find them at somewhat affordable prices.
This list does not include sets released at promotional events, small level packs for LEGO Dimensions, or individual minifigures.
10 LEGO Minecraft Micro World - The Forest
The First LEGO Minecraft Set
As soon as Minecraft first debuted in 2009, everyone knew that it and LEGO would be a match made in heaven to be adapted into LEGO sets. Fans only had to wait three years to see that concept become a reality with 2012's LEGO Minecraft Micro World - The Forest set.
A LEGO Ideas set, Minecraft Micro World was the first LEGO Minecraft set ever made, being a recreation of a chunk of Minecraft's typical forest biome for the time and featuring two "minifigures" of Steve and a Creeper, though in reality, these figures were just a few bricks made to look like the iconic characters.
This 480-piece set originally sold for only $35 and quickly sold out, leading to LEGO and Mojang collaborating to make more Micro World sets recreating other Minecraft biomes, parts of the Nether, and parts of the End in 2013 and 2014.
As the first LEGO Minecraft set and a LEGO Ideas product, only a few of these sets are out there in the world and sealed copies are currently going for $55-$130 on eBay, making it a fairly affordable LEGO Minecraft collectible to obtain today.
9 LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog - Green Hill Zone
A Sega Genesis Classic
lego.comSega's Sonic the Hedgehog has seen a resurgence in popularity in the late 2010s and 2020s, thanks in large part to better quality video games such as Sonic Mania and the hit live-action film series, eventually resulting in fans petitioning LEGO to make a Sonic LEGO set.
Sonic did technically make his first LEGO debut as a minifigure level pack in 2016 for the video game LEGO Dimensions, but he didn't receive his first proper LEGO set until 2021 with LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog - Green Hill Zone to coincide with Sonic's 30th anniversary.
A LEGO Ideas set initially designed by Viv Grannell, LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog - Green Hill Zone is a perfect 1,125-piece recreation of Sonic's first iconic level in LEGO form, complete with a Sonic minifigure and brick-built Dr. Eggman and robots.
While LEGO did make another similar Green Hill Zone set in 2023, this first Sonic LEGO set is still sought after by many Sonic collectors, with sealed copies going for $70-$160 on eBay.
8 LEGO Overwatch Bastion
Overwatch's Favorite Nature-Loving Robot
lego.comBlizzard Entertainment's first-person hero shooter, Overwatch, used to be one of the most popular multiplayer games both for casual players and esports athletes when it first launched in 2016. This popularity led the developer to eventually collaborate with LEGO to produce LEGO Overwatch sets intended for the game's older audience.
Many LEGO Overwatch sets were released in its first wave in 2019, but one of the most impressive and sought-after sets for Overwatch fans is the LEGO Overwatch Bastion set intricately recreating the game's iconic omnic rebel turned nature-loving hero.
This 602-piece set is one of the largest ever released for the LEGO Overwatch toyline, even featuring a mini-brick-built figure of Bastion's bird friend Ganymede and could be rebuilt to appear like the robot's tank-like assault configuration.
As one of the largest and most intricate LEGO Overwatch sets, Bastion's LEGO set is fairly expensive and hard to find sealed on secondhand markets, selling for $80-$230 sealed on eBay.

7 LEGO Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck
Horizon's LEGO Potential
lego.comEver since Guerrilla Games first publicly unveiled Horizon Zero Dawn and its massive animalistic machines, fans of Aloy's adventures longed to see these enchanting robots be recreated in LEGO form, with many fans taking it upon themselves to make MOC sets of each Horizon machine.
It wouldn't be until 2022 when fans finally saw this potential realized with the release of the LEGO Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck set released in conjunction with the launch of the anticipated sequel to Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West, that same year.
A LEGO Icons set, this 1,222-piece set not only perfectly recreated the giraffe-like Tallneck but also came with the first official minifigure of Aloy and a small brick-built figure of the small, dinosaur-like Watcher machine.
Sadly, this set was only one of two LEGO Horizon sets to ever be produced, alongside 2024's LEGO Horizon Adventures Aloy & Varl vs. Shell-Walker & Sawtooth, and sealed copies of the Tallneck set are currently selling for $125-$230 on eBay.
6 LEGO Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block
Iconic Worlds of Mario 64
lego.comNintendo's Super Mario LEGO sets are some of the most prolific LEGO themes based on video games today, as dozens of sets based on Mario's iconic adventures can always be found on store shelves. One Mario set that is particularly hard to find is 2021's LEGO Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block.
This set is essentially two sets in one, as fans can not only create a massive seven-inch tall question mark block seen in most Super Mario games, but also small dioramas of three worlds and Princess Peach's Castle found in Super Mario 64 to celebrate the game's 25th anniversary.
The 2,064-piece set doesn't come with any minifigures, but there are several small brick-built figures in it, including Mario, Princess Peach, Bowser, King Bob-omb, and more.
Being a fairly large and intricate 18+ set with an original retail price of $199.99, the LEGO Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block set is one of the most expensive Super Mario sets to find in secondhand markets, with sealed copies going for $250-$400 on eBay.
5 LEGO Atari 2600
A Legendary Console
lego.comAtari 50: The Anniversary Celebration
Some of the most popular LEGO sets based on video games are those that recreate classic video game consoles, such as the recent LEGO Game Boy set, with one of the best being 2022's LEGO Atari 2600.
The Atari 2600 was one of the most iconic and popular early home video game consoles of the late 1970s, paving the way for Nintendo, Sega, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles, so it only made sense for LEGO to celebrate it for Atari's 50th anniversary with the LEGO Atari set.
This 2,532-piece set perfectly recreated the Atari 2600 console along with its classic joystick controller and several cartridges of some of the console's most popular titles, including Adventure, Asteroids, and Centipede.
As another 18+ LEGO Icons set that initially sold for $240, the LEGO Atari 2600 set is somewhat hard to find but very expensive to purchase today, with sealed copies being sold for up to $550 on eBay.

4 LEGO Super Mario Nintendo Entertainment System
1980s Gaming in LEGO Form
lego.comThe LEGO Atari 2600 set was a great piece for fans of gaming from the 1970s, but one similar console set that practically everyone can enjoy was 2020's LEGO Super Mario Nintendo Entertainment System set.
The NES on its own is one of, if not, the most iconic home gaming consoles of all time, as it not only saved the video game market following the crash of 1983, but it also saw the debut of countless classic gaming characters and series from The Legend of Zelda to Metroid.
Of course, its most popular title was Super Mario Bros. so it only made sense for LEGO to include not only a LEGO recreation of the NES with the original Super Mario Bros. cartridge, but also include a classic 1980s TV featuring a scene from the first level of the classic side-scroller.
This 2,646-piece set was a must-have for Nintendo and LEGO collectors alike, and while it sold at a hefty $270 retail price six years ago, sealed copies today are selling for up to $500 today on eBay.
3 LEGO Star Wars Sith Fury-Class Interceptor
The Old Republic's Greatest Sith Ship
LEGO Star Wars sets are some of the most popular themes Lucasfilm and The LEGO Group have ever produced, with most LEGO store shelves being filled primarily with Star Wars sets and the sets themselves having gone on to inspire several celebrated LEGO Star Wars games and animated films.
While most LEGO Star Wars sets are based on the films and shows, a few sets in the late 2000s and early 2010s were actually based on highly popular Star Wars video games, with many of them being based on ships and characters from the hit MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Arguably the most impressive and sought-after LEGO Star Wars: The Old Republic set is 2012's 748 piece LEGO Star Wars Sith Fury-class Interceptor set featuring minifigures of Darth Malgus and two Imperial Sith Troopers of the Sith Empire.
As one of the few Old Republic and now Star Wars Legends LEGO sets, the Interceptor is one of the most difficult sets to find today, with sealed copies selling for $400-$800 on eBay, with the Darth Malgus minifigure alone selling for $400 in some secondhand markets.
2 LEGO Star Wars Rogue Shadow
The Force Unleashed's Hero Ship
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Four years before LEGO released Old Republic sets, it first delved into recreating a ship from one of the most popular Star Wars games of the 2000s with 2008's LEGO Star Wars Rogue Shadow from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
Beyond being one of the earliest LEGO Star Wars sets based on a video game, this set was actually one of the first LEGO sets to be based on a video game in general, though it was sadly the only one of its kind based on the hit third-person video game.
This rather small 482-piece set perfectly recreates the Rogue Shadow, the personal transport of Darth Vader's secret apprentice, Starkiller, in LEGO form alongside three exclusive minifigures of Starkiller himself, his pilot Juno Eclipse, and a battle-damaged Darth Vader based on his appearance seen towards the end of The Force Unleashed.
Due to this set being the only one of its kind, its price quickly skyrocketed from its original $50 retail value, with sealed copies selling for $600-$880 on eBay and the battle-damaged Darth Vader minifigure selling for $100 alone.
1 LEGO Overwatch 2 Titan
The Last LEGO Overwatch Set
One of the most difficult to find LEGO sets based on a video game is also one of the most controversial, with that set being 2022's LEGO Overwatch 2 Titan.
This 901-piece set was supposed to be the first of a LEGO Overwatch 2 theme to coincide with the release of Overwatch 2. Following sexual abuse allegations issued against much of Blizzard's management and staff, LEGO chose to ultimately cancel their partnership with Blizzard and ceased producing Overwatch sets in general.
However, before the set and theme were canceled, a few retail stores had actually sold a few copies of the Titan set, making it, and its two exclusive minifigures of Tracer and Mei, some of the rarest LEGO products of all time.
Despite its limited release and cancellation, a few sealed copies of the LEGO Overwatch 2 Titan set can still be found online, often selling for $480–$750, with the Mei minifigure alone having a value of nearly $200 alone due to its rarity.
