Meccha Chameleon: Best Hiding Spots

The key to any game of hide and seek is finding the perfect hiding spot, and Meccha Chameleon is no different.

Being able to blend in with the environment is key to success, but finding the best hiding spot may be trickier than you think. That's because we live in the streaming era, where people are watching thousands of other Meccha Chameleon players find their favorite hiding spots, some of which may or may not be fully ethical.

That's why when I'm looking for a good hiding spot, I try to find places where I can hide in plain sight. I'm not necessarily behind something, but instead blending in, resulting in tricking hunters into thinking I belong in the map itself.

With that in mind, I wanted to share some of the best hiding spots I've discovered in Meccha Chameleon.

9 Hide-and Seek Mansion

Hiding in the Shadows

Okay, sometimes you just need to get a little cheeky with your hiding spots. There's nothing wrong with that.

The key here is that Hide-and-Seek Mansion has a lot of really good spots for hiding, both in plain sight and out of everyone's view. Skilled painters will even be able to blend in with the paintings and wallpaper.

Instead, I'm opting for the out of sight, out of mind approach. Head into one of the back rooms and prop yourself below the armchair, blending in perfectly with the shadows.

8 Sewer

Hiding in Plain Sight

This is where hiding in plain sight really comes in handy.

By moving toward the truck and, instead of hiding in the storage box, going under the bags, not only do you perfectly blend in with the terrain, but you'll throw people off the scent.

There are so many times where I'll whistle and see hunters immediately look up to the ceiling or in the truck.

7 Backrooms

Pull Up a Chair

This one of the more popular ones I've seen streamers adapt, but hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Yes, there are so many good places to hide out of sight in Backrooms, so we're going to stay withing everyone's field of view with the same logic as Sewer: throw people off the scent. Blending in with the chair means you can stay hidden and off people's radars, even though you're directly in front of them.

6 Indoor Country

Here's the thing about hiding in Indoor Country. There are so many good spots out of everyone's vision that hunters have a habit of immediately going to them.

Instead, we're going to lie low in the grass. Literally.

Most of our body will be behind a wooden cut-out of a cow, while the rest is painted to match the grass.

5 Penguin Hotel

You Can Check Out, But You Can Never Leave

There's a lot of both clever and try-hard hiding spots in Penguin Hotel. As a result, I've noticed that hunters tend to focus on those. With that in mind, let's hide somewhere that's both in plain sight and in the shadows.

Underneath the stairs in the main lobby, we can blend in nicely with the dark brown wood. As a result, anyone who quickly looks up may miss us as they instead focus their attention elsewhere, such as around the nearby couch.

It's not a perfect spot, but it's one that's simple and effective.

4 Sugar Land

Blending In Nicely

If you ask me, Sugar Land is one of the hardest for hiding in Meccha Chameleon. It's small, and its bright colors don't always lend well to proper camouflage techniques.

It's not impossible, though, and here's one of my favorite hiding spots that uses nearby colors and shadows to your advantage.

My terrible paint job aside, you'll be able to run around one of the chocolate cake structures, hide behind the open area, and paint yourself to blend in with your surroundings.

3 Osaka

There are so many examples I've seen of Chameleons winning by hiding on the exterior of trucks, blending in perfectly with their body. So let's take a page out of that box, only with a nice little twist.

Instead of hiding on the green trucks out in the road, we'll instead head over to the garage and hide behind the white truck that's parked inside.

Not only does this give us a hiding spot that has several options, throwing hunters off the scent, but we can also blend in perfectly with the shadows while also hiding behind the license plate.

2 HIKAKIN Museum

In what may be the weirdest map in Meccha Chameleon, there's plenty of great hiding spots if you're a master with the paintbrush.

I am not, so instead, I'm getting a little sweaty.

There's a couch with two plushes on them next to the HANAKIN TV painting. You'll be able to wedge yourself along the baseboards behind the couch in a way that won't alert everyone of your presence, but you can still blend in and hide out of view.

1 Egypt

We're going to use verticality to our advantage her and hide in a way that has us not only blended in with the background, but in a hard to reach spot as well.

Above one of the golden pharaoh statues in the large wall, climb your way up to an exposed ledge among the bricks. It's here where we'll lie down, blend in with the different colored bricks, and hide until time runs out.

Bonus points if you can nail the texturing that makes you even more camouflaged!
