How to Use Modded Maps

Using modded maps is actually super easy and takes virtually no time at all. It's pretty straightforward, and the game even has an easy way of letting you know exactly what is and isn't modded.

To download mods, you'll want to head to the Steam Workshop page and start looking through some of what might be interesting. When you've found something you like, you can either click on it or hover over it and click on the magnifying glass icon.

All players in the lobby must have the mod downloaded. The game will prompt you with a warning if you don't have it.

There should be a green subscribe button you can push that will start the download almost immediately. That's really all there is to it, so your friends have no excuse for wanting to try out whatever your favorite map might be.

These mods being the best is partially subjective, but most of these are some of the most played and downloaded maps the game has to offer. They should provide some great fun and give you plenty of variety while you're hunting your friends down.

It is a bit smaller than some maps, so you may want to adjust your rules. That being said, it's still pretty dense with how much is there, so definitely talk with your group about what might feel more fair.

Minecraft House

This one is really tough, and not just because it's so dense. A lot is going on here with the way that everything looks in a Minecraft House setting, and it can be hard to discern players from the background to an extreme.

It is a great map with some really fun hiding spots, but it would definitely be a better map for something like Infection. Having some more hunters means you'll be able to cover a bit more ground in this surprisingly vertical map.

If you want to get competitive with your friends, then what better map to do it on than a hyper-competitive game map? It's an interesting map with a good bit of verticality and can lead to some surprisingly funny moments.

It's a little drab color-wise, but the overall map is still pretty solid with some fun places to hide. If you're not a fan of CS2, it might not have the same allure, but it can be a good time regardless.

Meeting Room

While not really based on anything except the real world, this map does make for a fun round or two. It's decently sized and has plenty of places to turn into hiding places, with some fun textures.

Since it's a little more realistic, it can feel a bit easier to figure out what isn't exactly right, making it a little tougher on those hiding. That uncanny valley feeling gets pretty strong for this one, so you may want to offer up some more time to paint.

Art Gallery

This is a map that comes with a rule set to keep things interesting. If you're a particularly talented artist, this map will give you a chance to show off your skills as you blend yourself into famous paintings, and hunters have to stay at a distance.

Hunters can't get too close once the hunt begins, so it really comes down to your ability to paint to make this one count. It can lead to some great and frustrating moments, especially if you're the friend who can't art.

Viking Dining

If you like feeling like a true Viking, then there's no better place to go than this map. It's got tons of clutter and texture all over the place, so you can get pretty fancy with your coloring if you so choose.

It's decently sized and pretty dense, so you may need to make some adjustments to the rules. This can be a great map, even when you're playing with mostly mistake-ridden casuals, which sometimes we all are.
