A small but welcome discount

Magic: The Gathering’s next set, Secrets of Strixhaven, launches later this month, but Amazon has already knocked some money off the Play Booster box. Wizards of the Coast revealed the decklist for its Commander precons this week (we’ve got the Quandrix Unlimited one), but Play Booster Boxes can net you 30 packs at under MSRP — ideal for building a collection quickly.
Image: Wizards of the CoastThe list price of a booster box is $164.70, which equates to $5.49 per pack of 14 cards. Amazon’s current deal, which brings it down to $148.62 (as of this writing), means each pack is $4.95. That discount isn’t huge, but it’s still very welcome, especially as we tiptoe closer to launch.
Image: Wizards of the CoastWhile the retailer still has the new Commander Decks at full price, it has cut the price of the Draft Night boxed product by 13%. That brings it down to $89.99 from $103.50 (as of this writing). The kit includes 12 Play Boosters to split between friends for a four-player tournament, as well as 90 Lands to build your decks with. To the victor go the spoils, which in this instance is a Collector Booster worth over $30.
Buy from Amazon ($89.99)Given that the Play Boosters alone are worth around 65 bucks, you could look at this as getting a cheaper Collector Booster as a sweetener. For more on Magic, find out why the set won’t include the Learn mechanic, despite being set in a Plane synonymous with academia.
