Covering the video games industry since 2017, with experience in news, articles, lists, and reviews (and I blame The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask for that).
If you are a fan of RPGs and want a third-person version: Tayná Garcia is a Brazilian journalist (but you can call her Tay) who ended up working with video games after finishing Zelda: Majora's Mask when she was a kid. With more than eight years of experience in the segment, she has been an assistant editor at Jovem Nerd in the past and is currently a contributor at DualShockers and a writer for gaming magazines for Editora Europa. Oh, and she may like Hideo Kojima a bit too much.
It seems a new alien threat is on the way! During the Xbox Partner Preview broadcast this Thursday, March 26, Rebellion officially announced its latest project: Alien Deathstorm.

If the studio's name sounds familiar, it’s because they are the folks behind Sniper Elite and Atomfall, but this new title brings quite a different vibe from anything they’ve done before.
Bridging the Gap Between Fast-Paced Action and Traditional Horror
According to the official announcement, Alien Deathstorm is a sci-fi action-horror FPS designed to test you in a hostile and unpredictable environment. The story centers on exploring an off-world colony that has completely lost contact with the rest of humanity – only for you to find yourself surrounded by sinister threats like cataclysmic mega-storms and bloodthirsty aliens.
Your mission, beyond simple survival, is to investigate the mystery and attempt to rescue any survivors. And the debut trailer offers a heavy dose of adrenaline, showcasing elements of terror and survival that feel like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in space. You can check it out right below:
Taking a deeper look at the first interview given by Rebellion’s Head of Design, Ben Fisher, to Xbox Wire, there are even more details to excite any horror fan, since the development team is aiming for an 80s-inspired sci-fi setting, featuring analog technology and an industrial aesthetic that reinforces the sense of isolation. On top of that, the game draws heavy influence from Lovecraftian eldritch horror, meaning that we can expect grotesque creatures!
Fisher also explained that the core gameplay intent is to keep the player constantly uncomfortable by mixing intense action with careful exploration. So this means players will experience some quiet moments amplified by the tension of being watched, punctuated by direct, visceral confrontations with hostile creatures.

Finally, the head of design made a bold statement about the niche they are carving out with this project: “We think the hybrid of shooter and survival-horror genres is something that’s been under-explored,” he explains. “We’re developing a high-octane action experience that will still have all the tension and horror of a more traditional survival-horror game, which is a very delicate but fun balancing act!”
And that’s it – that’s enough for me to wishlist this and hope 2027 gets here fast. Alien Deathstorm is set to arrive sometime next year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
