Pokémon Pokopia hasn't been out that long, but it's already going all-in on weird crossovers, as a special IKEA event is coming to the game on April 1.

Pokémon Pokopia is a cozy game that's adding new content through special events, partly as a FOMO strategy to get people to buy it as soon as possible. This is why the game launched with a Hoppip event, where players need to gather cotton spores from Dream Islands, which can then be traded with the Hoppip that hangs out in the Pokémon Center for exclusive items.

The first non-Pokémon event in Pokémon Pokopia has nothing to do with the monster-collecting aspect of the game and more to do with the furniture assembly. The official IKEA website has confirmed a special crossover event in which players can visit an IKEA-designed Cloud Island.

Pokémon Pokopia IKEA Island Launches April 1

The Pokémon Pokopia x IKEA crossover event will run from April 1 to May 10, 2026. During this time, players will be able to access a specific Cloud Island with rooms based on Pokémon such as Pikachu and Snorlax. Players can take photos of the items they see here and use the 3D Printer in the Pokémon Center to claim them, and even recreate the rooms.

It bears mentioning that the IKEA crossover doesn't add any new items or Pokémon to the game. It simply involves an area designed by pros.

The Pokémon fans in Japan will get something even cooler, as the Pokémon rooms on the Cloud Island will be recreated in select IKEA stores, with special Pokémon food items on sale. Anyone who has wanted to eat a Tangrowth-themed chocolate pudding had better start booking plane tickets right now.

The creative nature of Pokémon Pokopia means that it's easy for crossovers like this to exist, with famous people able to share their Cloud Islands online and let countless Ditto's gawk at their lack of skill. Hopefully, future crossovers will include actual new content, rather than just rearranged furniture.
