Pokémon Pokopia x IKEA collaboration adds Pikachu and Snorlax rooms

There's a Pokémon Pokopia and IKEA collaboration starting April 1, but it ain't no joke. The furniture company posted a detailed breakdown of the event on its official website as part of IKEA's 20th anniversary in Japan, including Pokémon-themed rooms with actual IKEA furniture that'll be on showcase in select stores.

Those stores are all in Japan, which is tough luck for anyone who isn't there between April 1 and May 10, while the collaboration is running. But hey, you can at least get some visual inspiration for making the rooms yourself, like the navy-and-white striped bed that's meant to be Snorlax and a twee little yellow sofa.

And you can visit IKEA's Pokopia rooms in the game itself using a code that'll send you to the event's special Cloud Island. That code is reportedly only available for those who visit the stores, though you can probably expect them to pop up online for everyone to use.

The Cloud Island rooms include one themed after Pikachu, complete with a Pikachu couch, some tastefully understated shelving, and a couple of adorable, mushroom-themed cushions for Pikachu and friends to lounge around on. There's also a Snorlax room. The big fella (gender-inclusive) has a blue and white-striped bed that, let's be real, is probably way too small for the purpose. But it looks nice next to a rich cobalt lamp and is within easy reach of a table laden with food. The room features a large, decorative shelf that spans its length as well, though I imagine Snorlax would be happier with the real-life IKEA version. That one is loaded with cubbies perfect for storing snacks, should a hungry Pokémon feel so inclined; the in-game has no such cubbies and is full of books and plants instead. Nice, but less suitable for a second breakfast.
