The fifth part of our Resident Evil Requiem walkthrough begins after you've obtained security level 1 clearance in the East Wing. Now it's time to explore the Garage and find a way to open the broken storage door. Solving the organ transport box puzzle, obtaining artificial lungs, and reviving the organless body are key, but we'll also enter the Isolation Ward and defeat the Attic boss.

Before you set off, it's important to note that this walkthrough will teach you how to get through Requiem on casual and standard (modern and classic) difficulties.

Here's how to complete the third part of Resident Evil Requiem: Explore the Garage, Isolation Ward, and Attic, and revive the organless corpse.

[Ed. note: This guide contains spoilers for Resident Evil Requiem, so continue at your own risk! Feel free to follow along or bookmark this page and come back if you get stuck.]

Find the wrench and organ transport box

Before you venture into Resident Evil Requiem's West Wing again, you might want to make a quick stop at the Guard Office to save your game. Be sure to bring antique coins to spend at the vending machines in the Parlor, but beware of the Chef, who's still roaming the hallway, and the zombie that might've respawned in the Parlor itself. You might also want to make a quick visit to the sitting area directly south of the Restroom and use a lockpick to collect rare metal.

Our goal, however, is the Garage in the southwest. Sneak past the Chef, and beware of the minor zombie ahead of you. After using the ID Wristband on the level 1 security door, grab the green herb ahead of you, then enter the Custodian's Office on the left to find a storage box and a typewriter.

There's a construction notice (file) on the wall opposite the Custodian's Office, and inside, you'll find a piece of scrap, a lockpick, and a wrench (key item) on the desk.

Go south into the Garage, and grab the organ transport box from the truck. There's a stack of nine handgun ammo in the crate behind the truck. Walk back to the entrance, but be prepared to turn around, run, and then shoot at the zombie trying to run you over.

Before you leave, grab the six handgun ammo from the crates between the cars. Proceed to the staircase, where you'll find five handgun ammo in a crate at the bottom, and two handgun ammo and a piece of scrap at the top. Now, head into the Office (middle floor).

Beware of the zombie with the rolling stand and blood bag, as it'll take a fair amount of bullets to defeat him. If you want, you can sneak past him and come back for the loot later (without spoiling too much; it will be easier to get rid of him if you wait). Our goal is to pass through the Kitchenette, get past the singing zombie (who's now walking up and down the hallway), go downstairs, wait for the Butcher to walk away, and turn right to use the wrench on the Cold Storage door.

Loot the Office (optional)

Should you decide to defeat the blood bag zombie and plunder the Office now, though, you will find a crate with two handgun ammo and a lockpick, an empty glass bottle, the Bar & Lounge safe code (file), and a background check (file) on the desks.

In the adjacent Records Room, you'll find a makeshift knife, an empty injector, three handgun ammo, a disposal team report (file), and a warped closet that you can't open for now. The Kitchenette contains a Mr. Raccoon statue and green herb.

Loot the Bar & Lounge (optional)

Although there will be an opportunity to defeat the Singer and her peers more easily later on, it's better to do so now, or at least attempt to sneak or run past the zombies and get behind the bar, where you can grab the S&S M232 handgun from the counter (it's better than Grace's original handgun) and open the safe using the code you picked up at the Office: 10 to the left, 80 to the right, 30 to the left. The safe contains three antique coins.

The Bar & Lounge also contains two handgun ammo in a vase (southeast), a green herb, and an antique coin dropped by the singing zombie. While you're in the area, open the drawer in front of the Chairman's Office for a piece of rare metal.

Revive the organless body

Once you've made your way down to the Cold Storage and opened the door with the wrench (again, watch out for the Chef in the hallway), grab the Artificial Heart. There's also a blood bag, a piece of scrap, and two crates containing five handgun ammo in this room.

Return to the Central Hall, passing the Filing Room and crossing the Dining Room. For extra loot, you can use your ID Wristband to unlock the storage adjacent to the Filing Room to get a hip pouch (adds two inventory slots) and 10 handgun ammo (this also opens the way for Leon to collect loot here later). Beware that a new zombie should have spawned here, but you can sneak past him if you don't wish to waste items.

Enter the East Wing and walk back to the Examination Room. If you haven't done so already, open the locked drawer in the East Wing lobby to collect rare metal. You shouldn't encounter the Chunk on this route, but do proceed carefully.

The goal is to revive the organless body in the Examination Room and immediately kill it, so you can take the ID Wristband (Level 2) from its hand.

Start by placing the artificial heart on the organless body. Next, select the organ transport box in your inventory and take the following steps to open it;

  1. Change the control knob from "auto" to "hand."
  2. Push the switch on the right up to the middle.
  3. Flick the fifth switch.
  4. Flick the second switch.
  5. Change the control knob from "hand" back to "auto".

Take the artificial lungs from the box and place them in the organless body, too, and be ready for a fight. Make sure to grab the ID Wristband (Level 2) from their dead body before you leave!

Enter the Isolation Ward

Your new wristband grants access to the Isolation Ward, so that's where we're headed next. As the Chunk is patrolling the hallway, wait for it to turn its back, then sneak to the Isolation Ward's entrance. The star on the map below marks the entrance.

In the dark room with the abandoned beds, you may collect a blood bucket (70) and a crate with two handgun ammo. Proceed to the brightly lit area in the east to grab a double mutation file, nurse's log (file), green herb, and scrap.

Head into the Security Manager's Office, grab 12 handgun ammo from the whiteboard, and examine the notebook on the desk. Next, examine the puzzle box. Since it uses braille, Grace proceeds to get the ID Wristband (Level 3) from the body (see picture above on the left) and decides to ask the imprisoned girl for help.

Note that the patient's room in the northwest has been opened, so feel free to head in and grab the piece of scrap plus two handgun ammo, or come back for it later. Your next goal is to return to the Guard Office and free the little girl from her cell. If you open the empty cell next to hers, too, you can get a Mr. Raccoon statue.

Unfortunately, new zombies are roaming the halls, so it'll be nigh impossible to carry the little girl safely into the Isolation Ward without getting attacked. Therefore, you should take out most, if not all, of the minor zombies while she waits on the couch in the Guard Office. Beware that mutated zombies with the tumorous heads are very hard to defeat with just handgun ammo; shooting them in the head and finishing them off with melee attacks, or hemolytic injectors, is much preferred. If you can't do that, rather than waste bullets, an alternative option is to get their attention, lure them into the waiting room, and circle back the other way (through the Examination Room) into the Isolation Ward.

You still need to get past the giant monster, though; whichever route you take, wait for the big zombie to turn its back, then sneak behind it to reach the Isolation Ward entrance.

After you put the little girl, Emily, to work, you'll have to stay in the Isolation Ward and defeat two waves of two zombie enemies each. When Emily yells "Grace? I did it!" you can return to the Security Manager's Office.

Attic boss fight

The game will switch to Leon, who's left in the Medical Supply Room. Be sure to pick up three handgun ammo, a green herb, and the satiety suppression medical record (file) before crawling beneath the slanted cabinet.

If you walk to the west side of the Attic, you'll find another big Chunk. Follow the northern route to grab three shotgun shells and five handgun ammo (both on your left side) before you trigger this fight. You'll have more opportunities to grab ammo once the fight has started. For now, approach the monster and grab the MSBG 500 shotgun on the floor. This is a far more effective weapon than your pistol, so use it to shoot the burly zombie in the face.

The map above shows the ammo locations, but beware that the two in the north become available after the monster has damaged the wall, and the one in the south is on a higher ledge, which also becomes available after the monster has broken some obstacles.

As a general strategy, circle around the square obstacle on the east side of the Attic. Before you turn a corner, turn around and shoot the monster in the face. During this fight, you'll have three opportunities to deal extra damage (most likely in the following order):

Three locations where players can trap the Attic boss in Resident Evil Requiem. Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via Polygon
  1. As soon as you can, take the path to the southwest, then circle to the north and climb the yellow ladder onto the ledge. From there, shoot at the monster. It'll try to crawl up; keep shooting, and it will fall down, after which you have the opportunity to jump and land a hatchet attack on its head.
  2. While trying to follow you, the monster will attempt to break through the doorway here (moving north). While the monster struggles, shoot it.
  3. Run past this location later in the fight, and the monster will destroy the boxes. Now you can climb another yellow ladder. Shoot the monster as it tries to climb up, then land another hatchet attack.

When the monster is dead, search the room for any ammo left, then exit to the west. On your right side, open the warped closet using your hatchet. You'll find the basement safe code (file) and a compensator (weapon attachment).

Downstairs on your right, get five shotgun shells from the crate, then push the red button to drop down the ladder and descend into the Chairman's Office.

Open the warped closets (optional)

As described in the third part of our Resident Evil Requiem walkthrough, you've probably cleared this area already while playing as Grace. However, if you leave the office and turn left, you will find another warped closet; Grace couldn't open them, but Leon can. Besides the one you opened in the Attic, there are four warped closets in the Chronic Care Center:

  1. Between the Gallery and the Bar & Lounge. It contains four shotgun shells and a dishwasher's note (file).
  2. In the Records Room. If you didn't loot the Office earlier, you can defeat the zombies now and leave whatever items you can't use for Grace to pick up later. Opening the warped closet yields mixed herb (G+G), 15 handgun ammo, and a Mr. Raccoon statue.
  3. In the Pantry adjacent to the Kitchen. To get the key, kill the Chef who's patrolling the hallway between the Cold Storage and the Dining Room (the location marked with a star and arrow). The warped closet itself offers a connoisseur charm that increases firepower on any gun. You will also find scrap, three shotgun shells, and 12.7x55mm ammo in the Pantry, as well as two blood buckets.
  4. In the Filing Room, behind the security door opened by Grace, as described earlier in this Resident Evil Requiem walkthrough. You'll find a med injector and 10 handgun ammo.

Butchering the Chef and opening the warped closets is entirely optional, but if you don't do it now, you won't have another chance.

If you haven't done so already (it was listed as an optional activity earlier in this Resident Evil Requiem walkthrough), now is a good time to defeat the zombies in the Bar & Lounge. You can grab the green herb and handgun ammo as Leon or leave it for Grace. You'll have to come back as Grace later to collect the handgun from the bar and open the Bar & Lounge safe.

Search Victor's office

When you're ready, take the northwestern staircase to enter the Lounge. Beware of the zombie with the explosive at the top of the stairs; shoot it to blow him up.

Unfortunately, he'll mutate into a tumor-headed zombie immediately after. Don't waste your bullets; just shoot him in the head until he's staggered, then use a melee attack to finish him off. Unless you've already collected them with Grace, grab the green herb on your right (next to the lounge chair) and the four handgun ammo on the dresser before opening the warped door.

Inside the Lounge, a mutated zombie will spawn near the entrance; like before, shoot it in the head to stagger it, then use a melee finishing move. Afterward, two mutated zombies will burst through the door at the back of the Lounge; kill them the same way.

You'll find additional handgun ammo and shotgun shells in the vases and on the tables. Don't miss the hand grenade and med injector in the Director's Office.

When you've got the loot (see the stars on the map below), pull the lever on the east wall in the Director's Office. Be prepared to fight two more mutated zombies and two regular zombies immediately after. There's a hatchet on the Meeting Room floor which you may throw.

The game will switch back to Grace, who's trying to rescue Emily. Our Resident Evil Requiem Basement walkthrough will help you through that unpleasant place.
