The ninth part of our Resident Evil Requiem walkthrough starts with Leon's wild motorcycle ride into Raccoon City Center, just after completing the detonator. In this part of Resident Evil Requiem, Leon may do a fun side mission in the form of Barry's scavenger hunt before the game switches to a horrifying orphanage adventure. Later on, Leon must escape the RPD and defeat the Super Tyrant.
Before you set off, it's important to note that this walkthrough will teach you how to get through Requiem on casual and standard (modern and classic) difficulties.
Here's how to complete the ninth part of Resident Evil Requiem: Raccoon City Center.
[Ed. note: This guide contains spoilers for Resident Evil Requiem, so continue at your own risk! Feel free to follow along or bookmark this page and come back if you get stuck.]
Enter the RPD building
This part of our Resident Evil Requiem walkthrough starts with Leon's motorcycle ride. There are two things you must do: Shoot the wolves before they attack you (you've unlimited ammo) and shoot the red explosives when you approach a blockade. After you've shot the first red explosive, three more will follow.
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonWhen Leon gets off his bike, find the Mr. Raccoon statue between the cars in the west, then walk down the alley to reach the RPD building. In the Main Hall, you'll find a map, a computer to save your game, a supply box for weapon upgrades, and the R.P.D. perimeter report (file).
As you can't open the rusted shutters yet, head into the West Office. Here, you'll find the top secret operation file and a locked blue locker.
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonAfter exiting the West Office, you can grab some handgun ammo in the Operations Room, destroy a Mr. Raccoon statue (northwest corner), and read the record of events file. Next, follow the hallway to the south — watch out for the zombie — and turn left at the end to find the Reception. Shoot the yellow tape on the ladder to lower it (and grab the handgun ammo behind you while you're at it).
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonIn the northwest corner of the Library, pick up the mechanic jack, which allows you to open the rusted shutters in the RPD's Main Hall. In the same room, on a bottom shelf in the center (behind the pile of books), you'll find a Mr. Raccoon statue.
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonBefore you head back to the Main Hall, we recommend heading to the STARS Office to complete Barry's scavenger hunt, which will lead you to Jojo's locker, and unlocking the briefcase.
When you're ready, go back to the Main Hall and use the mechanic jack to open the rusted shutter in the east. Follow the hallway to trigger a cutscene.
Escape the orphanage
This section of our Resident Evil Requiem walkthrough shifts to a little girl in an orphanage. Exit the bedroom and look into the room at the end of the hall (the Nursery). To hide from the children, return to the bedroom and crawl under the bed. After the children have left, follow the same path again, but this time, pass through the Nursery and exit in the northeast.
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonGo downstairs and ignore the noise behind you. You can try the doorknob, but it won't open. As the children are following you, crawl under the table opposite the locked door and wait for them to walk or fall down and disappear. Walk down the hallway, but beware that two of the children are right around the second corner (don't worry, they won't notice you unless you run into them). This section is a bit buggy; they may turn around, but even if they don't, just walk back into the previous room (with the stairwell) and then try the hallway again; the children should be gone.
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonIn the Director's Room, northwest corner, turn on the desk light, then pull out the lower drawer to get the hatch key. Approach the hatch in the south, but be ready to turn around and hide behind the boxes to the north as soon as the children appear. Wait for the children to exit the room, then go through the hatch.
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonIn the Underground Chapel, approach the stand with the two candles. A secret door will open behind it; as you can't reach the ladder, pull the lever instead. Now, head into the room with the coffins.
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonOpen the first coffin to your right to obtain the toe tag file. Then, pull out the lower coffin to create a staircase, leading you over the locked gate. Get the fire poker and unbolt the door.
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonReturn to the Underground Chapel; the children will reappear, so be ready to walk as quickly as you can. Pass the altar stand on the right to avoid getting grabbed, and interact with the ladder to escape.
The white hallway will lead you to a Research Lab where you'll find the series 60 results file on the first desk, and the new researcher's notebook file just before the exit. Proceed into the Meeting Room and use the clicker to look at the slides. Doing so will complete the orphanage section in Resident Evil Requiem.

This part of our Resident Evil Requiem walkthrough returns to Leon in RPD. With the Super Tyrant on his heels, Leon must escape the east part of the RPD. Follow the path ahead until the Super Tyrant bursts through the wall from the left; as soon as that happens (when he says "I don't have time to deal with this"), turn around and turn right at the window. The Super Tyrant will burst through the wall again; turn back, wait for him to come to you, then try the same path again.
Run upstairs and jump across the gap to complete the first part of this harrowing escape.
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonFollow the path south. As soon as you turn into the Waiting Room (see picture below, left side), run back. Enter the Chief's Office, approach the deer head (see picture below, right side), then run back again. The stars on the map below also show these two "turning points." Pass through the Private Collection Room and Waiting Room (passing the mounted bear) to find safety.
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonRight after you escape the Super Tyrant, you can grab a guide pamphlet (file) before leaving the gallery. If you didn't complete Barry's scavenger hunt or unlock the briefcase on the RPD's west side yet, you can do so now. When ready, you can leave the RPD through the gap in the north side of the Main Hall.
Outside, circle to your left to find a Parking Garage (optional area) with extra loot. Beware of the four zombies (three of them heavily armored). The well-lit area in the center contains a med injector, tracking module (common), cute bear charm (increases mid-range firepower, sacrificing close-quarters potency), a silver finish scope, and ammo. The cute bear charm is outside the container, in a dark corner on the right (behind the crates pointed out by the arrow).
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonBe sure to loot the regular ammo crates in the Parking Garage as well, then head north toward Gun Shop Kendo. After you enter, you'll start a brief cutscene, but make sure to turn back to grab the W870 Police pump-action shotgun on the shelf and head down the alleyway to find a Mr. Raccoon statue hidden in a window.
Outside, you'll find a small camp with the opportunity to save your game and upgrade your weapons at the supply box. Beware that you must fight the Super Tyrant as soon as you enter the square further north (see arrow in the picture below, right side). Don't forget to grab the ammo and med injector at the camp!
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonSuper Tyrant boss fight
The Super Tyrant's weak spot is his chest. Hitting it with Requiem bullets up close is especially effective. If the Super Tyrant gets staggered (about halfway through the battle), use your melee attack to deal extra damage.
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonThe Super Tyrant uses melee charge attacks, jump attacks, and ranged car-hurling attacks. The first can be parried when the Super Tyrant draws back his arm as shown in the picture, left side. You'll know the second and third are incoming when he jumps onto a car or impales a car, respectively. Note that the Super Tyrant often pauses for a moment between attacks, so use that to your advantage.
There's additional ammo and a med injector in the southeast corner of the battlefield. When the Super Tyrant is down, proceed though the orphanage and the tunnels below.
Just after entering Blackthorn Station, before you turn right at the rotating doors, you can pick up a gunpowder (large). Before entering the train wreck outside, grab a green herb from the ledge. There's some ammo in the first cart, too (the loot locations are marked with stars on the map below).
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonIn the third car, at the location of the arrow, be ready to shoot the seedling, but make sure to hit the flower head after it opens.
Before you enter the next set of railway cars, grab the gunpowder (small) on the left. Inside, also on the left, you'll find scrap, and in the final railway car, on the right, you'll find another green herb. Open the large ammo crate on the cliff's edge before descending.
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonPlant 43 boss fight
Beware that more seedlings will spawn in the tunnels (see arrows on the map below). If you spot a wriggling root, you'll know there's a seedling close by; shoot the root to make the flower appear. Before you drop down the ledge halfway through the tunnels, take the paths to the right and left to get some extra ammo (see the stars on the map below). Two seedlings will spawn before entering the tunnel to the left, and one more will spawn deeper inside that same tunnel.
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonBe sure to shoot down the hanging crate at the location of the northwest star, as it contains a tracking module (rare). There's an ammo crate on the ledge behind it, and a green herb in the tunnel ahead.
In the large open area, collect another green herb and ammo crates, then kill the two seedlings on the heap of roots ahead.
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonDrop down the ledge to start the boss fight against Plant 43. Hit it whenever it opens its bud, but be ready to dodge its snapping attack when the flower head draws back a bit. The two roots flanking the flower head are especially dangerous; they'll raise their heads slightly before trying to smack you (see picture below, left side). Dodge sideways to avoid damage, and beware that it's easy to miss the cue if you're focused on the main flower head.
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source image: Capcom via PolygonAt the end of the battle, hit the red explosives to defeat Plant 43. Now that the giant plant is dead, nothing stands between you and the massive doorway leading into ARK. The next part of our Resident Evil Requiem walkthrough will take you through ARK, past the elite troopers, and past the powerful Commander.
