If you are a fan of RPGs and want a third-person version: Tayná Garcia is a Brazilian journalist (but you can call her Tay) who ended up working with video games after finishing Zelda: Majora's Mask when she was a kid. Oh, and she may like Hideo Kojima a bit too much.
Few games can boast about having graced every platform imaginable over the past decade, but The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is certainly one of them, since it is officially playable on practically every console from the past three generations.
And with the arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2 earlier this year, the trend continued. Recently, Bethesda announced that the highly acclaimed RPG was on its way to Nintendo’s newest console, and its arrival should have been a moment of celebration. However, things did not go exactly as everyone expected.
Waiting For The "Hey, You. You're Finally Awake"
Expectations and hopes were that the Switch 2 version of Skyrim would live up to the acclaimed game, bringing the classic experience smoothly to yet another modern console – meaning it should, at the very least, be fully playable.
Unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case. Shortly after the port's launch, reports from disappointed players began popping up across community platforms like Reddit, alleging that the game is riddled with technical shortcomings that render it unplayable.

At the End of the Day, There's Still Skyrim
Despite being bleak and cold, Skyrim has a warmth unlike any other world in gaming.
“Skyrim's Switch 2 version is crippled by enormous input lag”, wrote one user, who went on to explain his frustration with the Switch 2 port: “Not only are the visuals only marginally better and the framerate still 30fps, but there's nearly a full second of delay after each input. I knew Bethesda were never great at optimisation, but this is just an absurdly poor effort. I'd honestly rather play the Switch 1 version, at least that one didn't feel so sluggish”.
[...] the game is riddled with technical shortcomings that render it unplayable.
Other players confirmed the problems with more personal reports: “I don't understand how the game has been released with this input lag. Just started it up, I played for 10 seconds and instantly noticed how bad it was. It really is unplayable for me”.
“The input lag is horrendous”, said another Reddit user, who noted the same technical issues in both handheld and docked modes, adding, “I genuinely can’t play the game with it in its current state”.
While all of this widespread disappointment is happening, some players are trying to find hope by recalling past issues. They noted that the launch of the Anniversary Edition on the original Nintendo Switch faced a similar situation, but was eventually fixed with post-launch patches: “Getting flashbacks to when [the] Anniversary Edition first dropped on Switch 1. Was in terrible shape until they patched a week or so later”.
Last but not least, in an effort to find any kind of temporary fix, one player suggested a small workaround to mitigate the problem: “Shifting the right stick sensitivity from its default to the 50 percent mark helped mitigate some of it for me”. So, if you, too, are having these issues, try this strategy until an official patch drops.
