All eight episodes of Prime Video’s Spider-Verse spinoff Spider-Noir drop on May 27, and it’s easy to binge the ultra-stylish series. The season tells a satisfying standalone story, but it also leaves the door open for more cases for private investigator Ben Reilly and his vigilante alter-ego The Spider (Nicolas Cage). If you want more of the show’s snappy dialogue and novel spins on Spider-Man’s rogue’s gallery, here’s everything we know about Spider-Noir season 2.

Is Spider-Noir season 2 confirmed?

No. Amazon hasn’t announced a second season of Spider-Noir. However, producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and showrunner Oren Uziel told The Hollywood Reporter that they would like to do more and designed the series with that in mind.

“One of the magical things about any private detective story is, if you want another story, all it takes is another client to knock on that door, and then comes a new set of cases, a new set of problems, and a new adventure to go on,” Uziel said. “So [it’s] conceived to be as many seasons as we want to go.”

What is the plot of Spider-Noir season 2?

Spider-Noir is set in 1930s New York and deals with the Great Depression and the aftermath of World War I. In an interview with SFX Magazine, Uziel reiterated that the private investigator genre provides easy story hooks, but also teased the possibility of moving forward in time to get closer to the beginning of World War II.

“Whether it’s New York or a different setting, I really feel like this is a great jumping-off point to expand your story,” he said. “And obviously as time passes from 1933, we’re heading towards not just trouble in the financial markets in New York, but also a geopolitical struggle that would be an amazing canvas for any future storytelling.”

Fans won’t have to wait long for more web-slinging action. Tom Holland’s version of Peter Parker returns in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which premieres on July 31. A second season of the Disney Plus animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is expected to be released this fall. The show prominently features Lonnie Lincoln, aka Tombstone, who is also one of the main characters in Spider-Noir. Even if there isn’t a second season of Spider-Noir, Cage will return to the role in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. The conclusion of Lord and Miller’s groundbreaking animated trilogy will be released on June 18, 2027.
