How snuggly can a Mega Charizard be?

After 30 years of Pokémon, we’ve come to expect an awful lot of merchandise for the monster-catching franchise. Pikachu and pals have infiltrated homes, schools, and workplaces over three decades, and they’re not stopping just yet.

One of the more popular ways to show off your fandom, or to show your dedication to your favorite ‘mon, is with a plushie — and there are thousands to choose from. We’ve dug into the Pokémon Center to find five of our favorites that you can buy right now.

1 Ditto (Comfy Friends Plush)

Maybe it’s the magic of Pokémon Pokopia, but Ditto’s stock has never been higher. The marshmallow-like shapeshifter is the star of Switch 2’s runaway hit, and if you wanted to pledge your allegiance to it, you can pick up this adorable 15-inch model. Since it’s in the Comfy Friends series, it’s "extra-fluffy," which is a relief as I always figured Ditto would actually be more gelatinous.

2 Growlithe (Squishmallows Plush)

Speaking of vaguely marshmallow-inspired things, Growlithe’s 12-inch Squishmallow gets a spot on this list for multiple reasons.

For one, it’s an adorable doggo with a prideful look carried over from its non-mallow version. For another, its mohawk makes it possibly one of the most punk rock Pokémon plushies around.

3 Snorlax (Comfy Friends Plush)

As with many, when I was a kid, I dreamed of a mammoth Snorlax to crash out on after a long day of, uh, running around the garden looking for Pokémon. This 15-inch model isn’t quite big enough for that, but it’s another Comfy Friends option that’s extra-fluffy, and likely a great fit for a little one’s bedroom. Plus, you know, it’s Snorlax — who I relate to more and more in adult life.

4 Eevee Collection: Flareon Plush

This was a toss-up between all of the Eevee Collection plushies, but these surprisingly affordable options that cover the Pokémon’s evolutions have Flareon at the top of the pile. Flareon’s flames always looked remarkably cozy from their original appearances, but if you’re looking to avoid getting burned, this is a much better option at 8-and-a-quarter inches.

5 Mega Charizard Y Poké Plush

A lot of fire types on this list, huh? Charizard is my favorite ‘mon, and this awesome Mega Charizard Y plush does it justice with embroidered details, impressive wing shaping, and really nicely colored tail flame. It stands around 14.5 inches tall and looks absolutely iconic.
