You play as a young photographer who moves to Paris for a new job at Mirage Corp — a glamorous fashion company with a darker side. Between photo shoots, intriguing coworkers, and suspicious meetings, you quickly discover that something is very wrong. Your choices shape your relationships, uncover secrets, and determine your fate — whether in love, friendship, or survival. But each night when you return home, something unexpected unfolds.

You discover a mysterious old book titled The Legend of Ardan. As you read, you are transported into a medieval world of knights, tyranny, and ancient magic, where a boy named Ardan seeks vengeance and honor after the brutal murder of his father. What’s more unsettling? Some faces from this fantasy world look eerily familiar. Coincidence… or is the book trying to reveal something deeper? Through the Lens is an early access visual novel that takes around 1.5 hours to complete. Through the Lens follows the main protagonist as he moves to Paris for work, and the longer he stays, the odder the whole place feels.

Through the Lens spans four days across two chapters, with a total playtime of around 1.5 hours. Story-wise, there isn’t really any kind of deep or interesting narrative. The cursed book that the protagonist finds is simply a story from the developer’s earlier game, 4 Kingdoms Supremacy. The rest of the game consists of answering or questioning the characters the protagonist meets. Choosing the correct responses can unlock special or secret scenes. Later in the game, closer to the ending, the protagonist is informed about his next photo shoot with the models.

They are told they will be dressing up for NSFW titles and will have to show more nudity than originally expected. Those NSFW titles turn out to be the developer’s other two games, Brooks in Wild West and 4 Kingdoms Supremacy, which gives the impression that Through the Lens was made primarily to promote those titles rather than stand on its own, especially given the lack of quality and depth in the story.
