Virtual Boy Nintendo Switch Online line-up announced

Get your headsets ready for red-tinted fun

Nintendo Switch Online is gaining a host of new games for the Virtual Boy this February, and the line-up has officially been announced by Nintendo. Starting on Feb. 17, players will be able to get their hands on games like Galactic Pinball and Virtual Boy Wario Land, with more games slated for release later in 2026.

The Virtual Boy just celebrated its 30th anniversary, and while it was a somewhat controversial release at the time (proving to be Nintendo's worst-selling console), a new-and-improved version was announced during a Nintendo Direct last September. Players have two different options when it comes to purchasing the accessory: The full version, which retails for $99.99, or a cheaper cardboard version for $24.99. Like all the nostalgic entries Nintendo has re-released for Nintendo Switch consoles, the new Virtual Boy games will require a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership to play.

When the Virtual Boy library launches on Feb. 17, it will contain the following games:

Galactic Pinball
Teleroboxer
RED ALARM
Virtual Boy Wario Land
3-D Tetris
Golf
The Mansion of Innsmouth

Several other titles will become available over the course of the year — though no specific date has been announced yet — including two previously unreleased titles, with the following line-up planned:

Mario Clash
Mario's Tennis
Jack Bros.
Space Invaders Virtual Collection
Virtual Bowling
Vertical Force
V-Tetris
Zero Racers (previously unreleased)
D-Hopper (previously unreleased)

Like all the games in the NSO library, these upcoming Virtual Boy titles will allow players to rewind their gameplay if they make a mistake, and give them the ability to check and change controller layouts to better suit their playstyle. Another feature, planned for later this year, will also let players change the tint of the games from the Virtual Boy's iconic red to other colors like white or green; to utilize this feature, players will need to remove the lens cover on the Virtual Boy.
