Where to Find Bears in No Rest for the Wicked

As you steadily fine-tune your build in No Rest for the Wicked, you will need to gather various materials like Stag Skulls to upgrade your gear. These items will allow you to enhance your gear, making it stronger and more capable of dealing with the Pestilence.

Of course, some of the upgrade materials are a bit more difficult to get your hands on. For instance, you might be stuck trying to figure out where to find bears so you can get Bear Paws and Bear Hearts.

Let's break down where you can find bears in No Rest for the Wicked, and where you can get the upgrade materials.

Search the Lowland Meadows

Bear Paws and Bear Hearts are materials that you won't need until you have some stronger gear. As such, you probably won't need to obtain them until you are a decent way through the campaign.

About halfway through the campaign, you will be tasked with traveling to the Lowland Meadows. This area is the section of the map to the south of Sacrament, and it is also where you will fight the Lost Huntress boss.

Normally, you can occasionally find bears wandering the forest around this area. However, there is a guaranteed spawn location for bears, and it appears after you defeat the Lost Huntress boss, so be sure to bring some enchanted gear because she is tough.

After you defeat the Lost Huntress, return to her arena in the evening. During this time, you will often find two bears resting in the boss arena.

Killing these bears and any that happen to be in the area is the first way you can get your hands on the various upgrade materials they offer.

Trade With the Merchants at Marin Village

After progressing through Marin Woods, you will come across a small village. Marin Village is home to two traders who offer the upgrade materials dropped by bears, but you need to unlock them.

To unlock these merchants, you need to complete the story in this area, which culminates with you defeating the boss called the Caretaker and the Tusk. Once this is done, return to the village, and both vendors will be available.

The vendors in question are Cyriel and Irmgard. Cyriel will typically have the bear materials available for purchase, but they are not cheap. Likewise, Irmgard will typically have at least one bear material, but she will require you to trade other materials to obtain it.

Friends can also purchase items from these merchants if they are in your realm.

Search Marin Woods

While you are progressing through Marin Woods, it is the perfect time to search for bears, as they like to appear in this area as well. Similar to the Lowland Meadows, there is a guaranteed bear spawn point in Marin Woods.

From the Marin Village Whisper, go across the bridge, enter the cave, and traverse it to the bottom. When you reach the bottom, where the pools of water are, you should find a couple of bears waiting for you.

You will naturally go through this area as part of the main quest, so make sure to note where you find the bears, as they do respawn, allowing you to easily farm materials.

As a bonus, there are chests in the area as well that might drop Embers or Research Papers for you.
