An Inferno Match is one of the new match types in WWE 2K26.
As its name implies, it heavily involves fire, with flames surrounding the ring, with the end goal being to set your opponent on fire. There are no pinfalls, no submissions, and no disqualifications; anything goes.
WWE introduced this stipulation in 1998 at WWE Unforgiven: In Your House in a match between the Undertaker and his brother, Kane. Now, nearly three decades later, the Inferno Match is in the WWE 2K franchise. Our guide will recap how an Inferno Match exactly works and how you can emerge victorious.

What is an Inferno Match in WWE 2K26
I alluded to this at the top, but an Inferno Match is literally a match where the WWE ring is surrounded by flames. Again, there are no pinfalls, no submissions, and no disqualifications. The only way to win is to light your opponent on fire.
Having said that, you aren't able to do this from the rip. You need to first build the Inferno Meter at the bottom of the screen to enter the second phase of the match, which will let you attempt to throw your opponent into the flames.
To grow the flames, you'll want to perform high-powered moves to fill up the Inferno Meter. We're talking power slams, dives from the top ropes, signatures, and finishers. It's important to know that not every heavy attack will grow the flames; only the most impactful ones will get the job done.
A good way to beat your opponent is to exit the ring; the flames will disappear if you roll out of the ring, and since this is a no-DQ match, you can hit them with a chair or two. Or ten.
Once the Inferno Meter is filled, you'll then enter the second phase of the match, where victory is possible.
Winning the Inferno Match in WWE 2K26
Okay, you've increased the flames and turned the heat on your opponent. Now it's time to toss them into the fire and win the match.
On paper, this sounds pretty easy: just pick them up, throw them into the fire, and win. However, it is far easier said than done. Your opponent isn't just going to let you throw them into the fire without a fight, after all.
First things first, you're going to want to get your opponent fatigued as much as possible, ideally even stunning them. Lay into them with combos, wear down their endurance, and ideally hit them with a combination of a signature move into a finisher. This may not leave them stunned, so don't be afraid to dish out some extra punishment.
From there, you'll want to pick them up off the mat, grab them, and transition into a carry. Once they're on your shoulders, head on over to the ropes, and you'll see a prompt to toss them into the fire. This will trigger a mini-game similar to what you see during a submission. You'll need to hammer the prompted button to fill the meter in your direction.
As expected, your opponent will do their best to fight back, but if you fill the meter, you'll toss them over the ropes, into the fire, and emerge victorious.
