Battlefield 6 Misses BAFTA Multiplayer Nomination Despite Massive Launch

The awards season for last year's titles isn't over yet, as the 2026 British Academy Games Awards (or simply the BAFTA Game Awards) has revealed its full list of nominees, bringing a few surprises, both positive and negative.

Starting on the positive (and somewhat expected) side, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerges as the most nominated game on the list, with 12 nods out of 17 categories in total.

Sandfall Interactive’s highly acclaimed title is competing in some of the most coveted categories, such as Best Game and Narrative, as well as the more unique awards like Artistic Achievement and New Intellectual Property. Furthermore, as the game has already become the most-awarded title of all time, it is set to further distance itself from Elden Ring, which previously held that record.

In second place for most nominations is the episodic adventure Dispatch, with 9 nods and a very strong presence in technical and performance categories like Animation, Artistic Achievement, and acting (featuring Aaron Paul and Jeffrey Wright in the voice cast).

Rounding out the top three is Ghost of Yōtei with 8 appearances in total, being recognized primarily for its technical quality in Game Design, Animation, and others.

Additionally, another interesting highlight regarding this year's nominees is that 17 of the 42 studios nominated for this year's awards are first-timers, including Dogubomb, Embark Studios, and Sandfall Interactive, which leads the pack.

Now, diving into snub territory, what stands out the most is the complete absence of Battlefield 6 in the Multiplayer category, which is certainly a surprise given that the Electronic Arts title was one of the most talked-about multiplayer experiences of 2025.

The nominees for that specific award are ARC Raiders, Dune: Awakening, Elden Ring: Nightreign, Lego Party, Peak, and Split Fiction – completely ignoring Battlefield 6, which was highly acclaimed last year for its return to roots.

As with any awards show, the BAFTA Game Awards nominees provide plenty for players and critics to debate, but above all, the event seeks to celebrate some of the most remarkable experiences of the year. So, let’s finally take a look at the full list.
