Every Dungeons & Dragons party needs a healer, and Solasta 2 is no exception. Luckily for players, the Early Access build has the Cleric as one of its original classes, and it's easily the best healer of all the Dungeons & Dragons classes.

The Cleric calls on the power of the gods to heal their allies and obliterate evil using holy magic. While the Paladin is also in the Early Access version of Solasta 2, it's far more of a combat-focused class, and can't fill the healing role as well as the Cleric, not unless the player is very lucky in finding potions and scrolls around the land of Neokos.

Classic Dungeons & Dragons Video Game Remaster Leaks Online

A classic Dungeons & Dragons video game is getting the remaster treatment, according to a new leak.

Maybe the balance of power will shift when the Bard and Druid are added to Solasta 2, but for the time being, the Cleric is an essential pick for players, and you'll need them at the top of their game if your party is going to survive all of the tricky battles that await them.

This guide is based on the Early Access build of Solasta 2, released on March 12, 2026. The game is expected to receive new updates and increase the level cap in the future, so this guide will be updated over time.

Best Cleric Stats in Solasta 2

The Cleric is a primary Spellcaster class, which means magic should be your main focus. Wisdom is the stat tied to Cleric spells, so max out your Wisdom as soon as possible!

After Wisdom, you should focus on Dexterity and Constitution. Dexterity is needed to avoid attacks (as it boosts your Armor Class), and Constitution increases your hit points, which you'll need to stay alive. After all, you can't keep the other party members alive if you're dead!

Best Cleric Ancestry/Species in Solasta 2

The Early Access Build of Solasta 2 comes with four Ancestry options. The best option is Dwarf, as this gives you extra hit points, resistance to Poison, and Tremorsense, allowing you to "see" invisible foes and bypass blindness effects. The extra bulk is needed for Clerics, especially in conjunction with the Ascetic Background (detailed in the next section).

During character creation, you'll be asked to pick a Divine Order. Select Thaumaturge, as the weapon/armor options provided by Protector aren't useful in the Early Access build.

The second-best option is the Human with the Quick Origin Feat. This provides you with some extra movement, which you'll need to reach wounded allies, but more importantly, gives Attacks of Opportunity against you Disadvantage to the roll.

Best Cleric Background/Origin Feat in Solasta 2

The Backgrounds in Solasta 2 are more important than they were in Baldur's Gate 3, as they determine what stat boosts you'll receive. This means certain Backgrounds are better than others, as they're the only way to max out your spellcasting stats.

Baldur's Gate 3: Best Oath of the Crown Paladin Build

As an Oath of the Crown Paladin, you believe in law and order, loyalty, and responsibility. Let's put this to the test with this build.

In Solasta 2, the best Background for the Cleric is Ascetic. Not only does it offer boosts for your three main stats (Wisdom, Dexterity, and Constitution), but it also provides the Robust Feat, giving more hit points, and restoring you to 1 hit point if you're stabilized in combat. This gives party members a way to bring you back from death's door if there are no more healing potions.

For a more spellcaster-focused build, select the Acolyte Background. This lets you boost Wisdom and Constitution, as well as giving you the Magic Initiate (Cleric) Feat, providing you with two extra Cantrips and a level 1 spell.

Best Cleric Skills in Solasta 2

The Cleric isn't exactly known for being the Skill-user of the group: that's what the Rogue is for. Plus, they only get two Skill picks from their class choice, and there isn't a big pool to choose from.

To simplify things, pick Perception and Medicine. The former will help the party spot hidden threats, and the latter is used for helping wounded allies, something that's already part of your role in the group. If you selected Thaumaturge, you can also choose Religion and Intelligence with your Wisdom modifier added, making them a good choice if you get more Skill picks.

Best Cleric Subclass in Solasta 2

The Cleric has three subclasses in Solasta 2, and you must pick one when you get to level 3. The options are Life, Oblivion, and Battle.

Life adds Aid, Bless, Cure Wounds, and Lesser Restoration to your spell list. You also gain Disciple of Life (if you cast a healing spell, it restores an extra 2 + Cleric level) and Preserve Life (spend a Channel Divinity to restore your Cleric level five times five among targets).

Oblivion adds Inflict Wounds, Sleep, Calm Emotions, and Ray of Enfeeblement to your spell list. You also gain Gate Keeper (heals a dying ally, putting them on 1 hit point at the start of their turn, while giving everyone Advantage on Death Saving Throws), and Herald of Pain (spend a Channel Divinity to deal 2d8 damage to all hostile foes within 30ft and one of the enemies gets Disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks for one minute.)

Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 Classes Visit The History Of D&D

Baldur's Gate 3's upcoming subclasses in Patch 8 are exploring the history of D&D 5e and before.

Battle adds Magic Missile, Shield, Acid Arrow, and Shatter to your spell list. You also gain Divine Fortitude (automatically receive your Cleric level times three in temporary hit points when you take a Long Rest), Armed and Ready (you can cast spells even when your hands are full), and Decisive Strike (when you hit a creature, you can spend a Channel Divinity to deal 2d6 + Cleric level in Force damage and force a Constitution save against being Incapacitated.)

It's hard to pick a best Cleric subclass as they're all amazing. Oblivion wins out, however, as Herald of Pain is possibly the best offensive move in Solasta 2, seeing as it hurts all enemies within 30ft (though they can save for half), while skipping allies. This can be extremely effective when enemies have swarmed the party. And as Herald of Pain isn't a spell, you can use Healing Word in the same round.

Best Cleric Spells in Solasta 2

As the Solasta 2 Early Access build only goes to Level 4, your Cleric will only have access to Cantrips and Level 1-2 spells. You'll also be able to bolster your arsenal using healing scrolls and magic items.

The best Cleric Cantrips in Solasta 2 are:

Name

Effect

Action

Guidance

Remember constantly using Guidance in Baldur's Gate 3? It's back, baby, and just as useful as it was before. It can also be used during dialogue scenes, giving you a little extra push for your skill checks.

Action

Sacred Flame

This Radiant attack Cantrip still has the same bad accuracy as Baldur's Gate 3, but it's your best ranged magic option when out of spell slots.

Action

Spare The Dying

If an ally has been downed, this will instantly stabilize them. A must-pick Cantrip for any Cleric.

Action

Dazzle

If you have to get in close to heal an ally, you can use Dazzle on an enemy in melee range to potentially shut off their reactions, allowing you to back off without getting hit.

Bonus Action

Holy Conduit

A melee attack Cantrip that doesn't deal too much damage, but also hits the other enemies within 5ft for 1d4 damage.

Action

The best level 1 Cleric spells in Solasta 2 are:

Name

Effect

Action

Healing Word

A ranged healing spell that can be cast in the same turns as a combat Cantrip. Easily the best Cleric spell in Solasta 2 so far.

Bonus Action

Cure Wounds

A more powerful healing spell, but it requires a full Action, and you need to touch the target, making it riskier to use in battle.

Action

Guiding Bolt

Your best attack spell. If it hits, it deals 4d6 damage, and the next attack against the target has Advantage. Use this if your Rogue is next in the queue, as they'll get Sneak Attack damage.

Action

Inflict Wounds

While not as powerful as Guiding Bolt (2d10 Necrotic vs. 4d6 Radiant), it doesn't require an attack roll. Instead, Inflict Wounds is a Constitution Saving Throw spell, which may be better, depending on the circumstances.

Action

The best level 2 Cleric spells in Solasta 2 are:

Name

Effect

Action

Healing Word/Cure Wounds/Guiding Bolt

Okay, this is a cheat putting them here, but upcasting these level 1 spells is worth burning slots on, as it makes them way more effective.

Bonus Action/Action/Action

Hold Person

Potentially paralyzes a target, though they get an extra attempt at the Saving Throw each turn.

Action

Prayer of Healing

Heals the entire party for 2d8 hit points, but can only be used once per Long Rest

Action

Life Drain

It has a massive range, and if it hits, it drains 2d8 hit points from a target and gives them to the Cleric as temporary hit points.

Action

Best Cleric Feats in Solasta 2

Solasta 2 Screenshots (16) Image Via Tactical Adventures

Once your Cleric reaches level 4, they'll gain access to a single Feat from a pool of options shared by all classes. There aren't that many spellcaster or healing-focused Feats yet, but there are still some great options for the Cleric to take.

Caution Before the Seelie is a powerful legendary tome in Baldur's Gate 3 that grants you a strong scroll if you find and read it.

Powerful Cantrip — This ensures that an enemy will always take half damage from your Cantrips, even if they pass their Saving Throw. Finally, Sacred Flame has been redeemed!

Ability Score Enchantment — Use this to attempt to max out your Wisdom if you haven't been able to do so already, or top up either Dexterity/Consitution when possible.

Blessing of the Elements — You can spend your Reaction to become Resistant to an elemental damage type when being hit by it. This is very useful for keeping your Cleric alive in battle.
