Of course, the Fighter is one of the original six classes in Solasta 2. It has a long tradition of being the most basic Dungeons & Dragons class, one that anyone can pick up and have fun with. You're a Fighter, which means you're excellent at fighting: what else needs to be said?
On the surface, it might seem like the Fighter in Solasta 2 isn't that much different from its iteration in Baldur's Gate 3, but don't be fooled, as it has received a major power boost. The Fighter is the biggest beneficiary of the new Weapon Mastery system, giving them far more options in battle.

Classic Dungeons & Dragons Video Game Remaster Leaks Online
A classic Dungeons & Dragons video game is getting the remaster treatment, according to a new leak.
Every party needs a meat shield to take the blows intended for the spongier members of their crew, and few do it better than the Fighter. The biggest difference this time around is the arsenal of weapons, so make sure you're prepped for everything coming your way with an amazing build.
This guide is based on the Early Access build of Solasta 2, released on March 12, 2026. The game is expected to receive new updates and increase the level cap in the future, so this guide will be updated over time.
Best Fighter Stats in Solasta 2
Image Via Tactical AdventuresChances are, your Fighter is going to be a melee character. This means Strength is your most important skill. Max out your Strength as soon as possible!
After Strength, Constitution, and Dexterity are the most important stats. Constitution due to how it gives you extra hit points and how many enemy spells require a Saving Throw from the stat, and Dexterity due to it increasing your Armor Class, making you harder to hit in the first place.
Of the two, Dexterity is probably more important, as you'll likely have a ranged weapon as a side option. Dexterity is the main stat for ranged weapons, so it helps to keep them high.
Best Fighter Ancestry/Species in Solasta 2
Image Via Tactical AdventuresThe Dwarf is one of the best Ancestry options in Solasta 2. Not only do they resist Poison damage and have higher hit points than other races, but they also have Tremorsense, which allows them to detect invisible creatures. This also allows the Dwarf to avoid being blinded, which is helpful, as enemy spellcasters love using the Blindness spell.

D&D 5e Is Adding New Psion Class
Dungeons & Dragons 5e is adding its first new class since the Artificer, with the Psion utilizing mental magic to survive their adventures.
The Human is the other best Ancestry option because they get an extra Origin Feat. There are a few good choices, though the best ones are Vigilant (prevents you from getting Disadvantage on Initiative rolls when Surprised), Savage Attacker (roll a weapon's damage die twice and pick the better result), and Stable (more hit points, and you get up when stabilized)
Best Fighter Background/Origin Feat in Solasta 2
Image Via Tactical AdventuresIn Solasta 2, Backgrounds are incredibly important, as they not only determine what extra stat points you can give to your character, but they also provide an Origin Feat. The best Background choices for the Fighter in Solasta 2 are:
Wanderer: Not only does this provide potential stat boosts to Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution, but it also provides the Savage Attacker Origin Feat, which potentially increases your attack damage.
Lowlife: Like Wanderer, this offers stat boosts for Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution. Instead of Savage Attacker, Lowlife gives the Quick Origin Feat, boosting your movement speed by 10ft, and ensures all Opportunity Attacks against you have Disadvantage. Pick Lowlife if you want to move around the battlefield a lot and don't want to take levels in Rogue.
Best Fighter Skills in Solasta 2
Image Via Tactical AdventuresAs the Fighter, you're not going to be doing much outside of combat. As such, you should focus on Athletics and Perception, with the former being your best Skill by far. Leave the rest to the smarter members of the crew, as it's the Rogue's job to sort out any issue that can't be resolved with a sword to the face.

Dungeons & Dragons Playtest Is Overhauling Classic Campaign Setting Feats
A new D&D Unearthed Arcana is overhauling Eberron content ahead of its return in a future book.
It's entirely possible to play a high Charisma Fighter, but if you're going that route, you're better off just playing a Paladin, which is also in the Early Access build, as they have powers tied to their Charisma stat and are better suited as the group's face.
Best Fighter Subclass in Solasta 2
Image Via Tactical AdventuresThere are two Fighter subclasses in Solasta 2: Aether Warden and the Commander. As with all classes in the updated Dungeons & Dragons Player's Handbook, you select your Fighter subclass at Level 3.
The Aether Warden is the spellcasting class, giving the Fighter access to two Cantrips and three spells from the Wizard list, with Intelligence as the spellcasting stat, except for attack spells, which can use Constitution instead. You don't need to worry about casting spells in armor, and your Mythology of Might ability lets you cast without using an Arcane Focus.
Unlike the old days of Dungeons & Dragons, it's entirely possible for characters in Solasta 2 to cast spells while wearing medium/heavy armor. However, they need proficiency with the armor to put it on, which can be trickier to get.
The Commander provides two extra Skill proficiencies (Athletics, Insight, Intimidation, Investigation, Perception, Persuasion, or Survival). They also get the Rousing Shout ability, which gives all allies within 30ft Advantage on their next attack roll, assuming they do it before the Fighter's next turn. This can be used a number of times per day equal to the Fighter's Constitution modifier and can be done as a Bonus Action.

The best Fighter subclass in Solasta 2 is the Commander, no contest. Rousing Shout, giving everyone Advantage on an attack, is a tremendous ability, especially if there's a Rogue in the group, as it ensures their next hit is a Sneak Attack. But even just giving the Fighter Advantage is a huge deal, and is worth more than a handful of spells that are likely already owned by another party member.
Best Fighter Weapon Masteries in Solasta 2
Image Via Tactical AdventuresThe Fighter gets to select three Weapon Masteries at level 1. In essence, you're picking weapons, and if you use those weapons in battle, they'll have extra abilities that activate them. You can still use other weapons, but they'll just deal damage and won't provide any additional effects. The best weapons for the Fighter to use in Solasta 2 are:
Greataxe/Cleave - Want to have great cleavage? This is the weapon for you. If you kill an enemy with a Greataxe, you get a free hit on another enemy within range, but you lose your Ability Modifier to the attack.
Greatsword/Graze - Sick of missing attacks in combat? The Graze Weapon Mastery ensures that you deal damage to a creature equal to your Ability Modifier, even if you miss.
Longsword/Sap - Name a more iconic Dungeons & Dragons duo than the Longsword & Shield? People who want to play a defensive wall should take the Longsword, as Sap is a debuff that affects an enemy you hit, causing their next attack to have Disadvantage.
Longbow/Slow - Chances are, you won't start next to your opponent each time a fight breaks out. This means you'll need a ranged weapon, and the longbow is ideal. Not only does it deal a lot of damage, but it has the Slow Weapon Mastery, reducing the enemy's movement speed. If you're lucky, this means they will need to Dash to reach you, missing out on their next attack.
Best Fighter Feats in Solasta 2
Image Via Tactical AdventuresOnce you reach level 4 in any class in Solasta 2, your character will be able to select a Feat.
Eager for Battle: Provides an extra stat point, grand Advantage on all Initiative rolls, and a 10ft speed increase. This is a great all-rounder Feat if you can't pick.
Follow-Up Strike: If you're using a two-handed weapon and perform an attack, you can spend your Bonus Action to make another attack at 1d4+Strength damage. You also gain another Strength stat point.
Ambidexterous: If you're using a weapon in each hand, this increases your options, as anything that isn't Two-Handed or Heavy is treated as Light. This will have to tide people over until the Ranger is added to Solasta 2.
