Solasta 2 features the Sorcerer class, which Dungeons & Dragons fans will know as the ones that can naturally use arcane magic, without the need to study like those Wizard nerds, or go running to daddy/mommy Patron for spells, like the Warlock.
Sorcerers are arcane spellcasters who are born with the gift of magic, usually due to having a supernatural being in their ancestry, such as a dragon or a genie. While they don't learn as many spells as the Wizard class, they can change how their magic works, thanks to their unique Metamagic ability, altering their attacks on the fly.

Classic Dungeons & Dragons Video Game Remaster Leaks Online
A classic Dungeons & Dragons video game is getting the remaster treatment, according to a new leak.
The Sorcerers in Solasta 2 are drastically different from those players might have experienced in Baldur's Gate 3, thanks to the new subclasses and the use of the updated D&D 2024 rules, which is why DualShockers has created a build guide to help you make the ultimate caster.
This guide is based on the Early Access build of Solasta 2, released on March 12, 2026. The game is expected to receive new updates and increase the level cap in the future, so this guide will be updated over time.
Best Sorcerer Stats In Solasta 2
Image Via Tactical AdventuresThe Sorcerer uses Charisma as the primary stat for its spells. As such, this should be your primary focus. Put 15 points into Charisma straight away!
The next two stats you should focus on are Dexterity and Constitution, the former because it makes you harder to hit, and the latter for giving you more hit points.

Baldur's Gate 3: Best Bladesinger Wizard Build
Are you tired of your Wizard being a ranged character in Baldur's Gate 3? You won't have that issue with this Bladesinger build.
Don't bother putting points into Strength, as you won't be hitting anyone, and you'll have other party members to carry stuff for you. Intelligence is also a dump stat, as that's the purview of Wizards and Rogues. The only other stat worth considering is Wisdom, because of how often Wisdom saving throws come up in the game.
Best Sorcerer Ancestry/Species In Solasta 2
Image Via Tactical AdventuresThe best Ancestry for the Sorcerer in Solasta 2 is the Human. This is because they can use their Versatile trait to get the Ready for War Origin Feat, giving them access to light armor and shields. The modern D&D rules don't penalize spellcasters for wearing armor, so long as they have proficiency with it, so being a Human makes you far more durable.
Those looking for extra firepower should take the High Elf Ancestry. Not only does this provide the usual elven benefits, but it also provides two extra Wizard Cantrips, access to the Longstrider spell, and gives Misty Step at level 5. Note that Misty Step isn't in the Early Access version of Solasta 2, but it's one of the best D&D movement spells.
Best Sorcerer Background/Origin Feat/Skills In Solasta 2
Image Via Tactical AdventuresThe best Background to choose for Sorcerers in Solasta 2 is the Occultists. This will let you put extra points into your best stats (Charisma, Dexterity, and Constitution), as well as give you the Magic Initiate (Wizard) Feat, giving you two Wizard Cantrips and a spell. As a Sorcerer, you'll already be using an Arcane Focus, so you can use these extra spells without needing to switch items.
Unlike in Baldur's Gate 3, Backgrounds are INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT in the new D&D rules and Solasta 2, as they provide extra stat points, as well as an Origin Feat.
A good second choice for a Background is the Spy. This lets you put extra points into Charisma and Dexterity, and provides the Vigilant Feat, removing Disadvantage when you're surprised. Stealth and surprise attacks are fairly common in Solasta 2, especially on the overworld, so Vigilant is useful to have.

Baldur's Gate 3: Best Oath of the Crown Paladin Build
As an Oath of the Crown Paladin, you believe in law and order, loyalty, and responsibility. Let's put this to the test with this build.
In terms of Skills, as the Sorcerer is a high Charisma class, they work best as the face of the party. As such, you aim for Deception, Intimidation, and Persuasion, as these come up a lot in dialogue, and can get you out of tricky fights.
Outside the Charisma skills, the most useful are Perception and Insight, as these come up in dungeons and conversations a lot. You don't need to worry about the knowledge skills so much, as this should be the focus of your party's Rogue. After all, you're a looker, not a thinker!
How The Sorcerer Is Different In Solasta 2
Image Via Tactical AdventuresThe Sorcerer was often considered to be one of the weaker D&D classes, which is why it received a huge boost in the 2024 update. The bigger change to the Sorcerer in Solasta 2 is the addition of the powerful Innate Sorcery ability.
Innate Sorcery: This is a state you can enter for a minute, granting you Advantage on spell attack rolls, as well as increasing your spell save DC by one. It can be used twice per Long Rest and requires a Bonus Action to activate. Innate Sorcery should always be thrown up during the first round of combat.
Sorcerers in Solasta 2 retain their Sorcery Points and Metamagic abilities. They gain Sorcery Points, which can either be spent on restoring spell slots or used to fuel their Metamagic powers, which are detailed further below.
One major change in Solasta 2 is that Sorcerers select their subclass at level 3 instead of level 1, which is something that affected all D&D classes in the 2024 update.
Best Sorcerer Subclass In Solasta 2
Image Via Tactical AdventuresThe Sorcerer Subclasses in Solasta 2 are unique to this game and won't be seen in either Baldur's Gate 3 or D&D. The options in the Early Access Build are the Mana Painter and the Star Child.
The Mana Painter adds the following spells to their list: Acid Arrow, Bane, Calm Emotions, and Color Spray.
The Mana Painter also gains the Mana Shield ability, which grants temporary hit points equal to three times the level of a spell they have just cast, which happens each time they cast something better than a Cantrip. They also gain the Mana Drain attack, which uses an Action, dealing 2d8 + Sorcerer level in Force damage, while also regaining Sorcery Points equal to half your Sorcerer level.

Classic D&D Video Game Is Being Remastered On PC & Consoles
After accidentally being leaked by Steam a few weeks ago, a classic Dungeons & Dragons video game remaster has been confirmed for PC and consoles.
The Star Child adds the following spells to their list: Aid, Bless, Magic Missile, Scorching Ray.
The Star Child gains the Shooting Stars feature. If you use a spell with a Metamagic effect and it hits the enemy, they'll take an additional 1d4+1 Force damage. If multiple enemies are affected, one is selected at random.
Of the two subclasses, the Mana Painter is by far the best choice. While its bonus spells aren't as useful, the Mana Shield and Mana Drain abilities are way better than Shooting Stars.
Image Via Tactical AdventuresWhen you reach level 2, your Sorcerer will gain access to Metamagic options. There are two standout options from the crowd that should be picked straight away:
Quickened Spell: Anyone familiar with Baldur's Gate 3 or D&D shouldn't be shocked by this. Quickened Spell changes an Action spell to a Bonus Action spell. You're still restricted to only casting a Cantrip in the same turn, but it means you can cast a Level 1 or 2 attack spell, followed by a Sorcerous Burst.
Twinned Spell: While not quite as good as in Baldur's Gate 3 or D&D, Twinned Spell is still an excellent choice, as it allows you to target an extra creature when using certain spells.
Best Sorcerer Spells In Solasta 2
Image Via Tactical AdventuresThe Early Access build of Solasta 2 only goes to level 4, which means you'll have access to Cantrips, as well as Level 1 and 2 spells. Chances are, this will include some Wizard options, assuming you took Magic Initiate as an Origin Feat.
These are the best Sorcerer Cantrips in Solasta 2:
|
Sorcerous Burst |
An exclusive Cantrip that can change damage type based on the player's choice (either Acid, Cold, Lightning, Thunder, Fire, Poison, or Psychic). It uses d8s for damage, and if the player rolls an 8, they roll an extra damage die, and keep rolling if they get 8s. |
Action |
|
Dazzle |
This melee Cantrip prevents the enemy from tacking Reactions if they fail a Dexterity Saving Throw. Dazzle is amazing if an enemy gets too close, as you can cast a level spell, then use Dazzle on the opponent, to run away without them getting free hits. |
Bonus Action |
|
Poison Spray |
Has the highest damage dice of the available Cantrips (d12) but only has a short range. |
Action |
|
Shadow Armor |
Provides three temporary hit points for one minute. Cast it just before combat, and you should be good. |
Action |
|
Fire Bolt |
It isn't quite as strong as Poison Spray, as it only uses d10 for its damage die, but it has a much longer range. |
Action |
|
Acid Splash |
Only deals 1d6 damage, but it can strike multiple enemies that are grouped together. |
Action |
The best level 1 spells for the Sorcerer in Solasta 2 are:
|
Magic Missile |
Doesn't deal much damage, but it can be spread across multiple foes, and is the best choice when you need to hit an enemy to finish it off, as it doesn't need an attack roll. |
Action |
|
Chromatic Orb |
Is basically a much stronger version of Sorcerous Burst, with a varied choice of element type, and it combos well with Innate Sorcery |
Action |
|
Thunderwave |
A great keepaway spell, as it damages everyone in the area around the caster. |
Action |
|
Shield |
Is a great way to protect you from a killing blow, as it boosts your AC when attacked. Save it for when you're low on health. |
Reaction |
|
Mage Armor |
If you didn't pick a human and get armor/shield proficiency, then this spell is a must, as it increases your base Armor Class for 8 hours for a single spell slot. |
Action |
|
Burning Hands |
A great spell for damaging groups of enemies, in instances where you can run away from them. Otherwise, use Thunderwave. |
Action |
The best level 2 spells for the Sorcerer in Solasta 2 are:
|
Shatter |
While not quite as useful as in Baldur's Gate 3, where it could break platforms and scenery, Shatter is still one of the best AoE spells in Solasta 2. It deals a ton of damage over a large area, punishing the enemy for bunching up too close. |
Action |
|
Scorching Ray |
This spell creates three rays that can hit multiple targets. It's best to pair Scorching Ray with Innate Sorcery to increase the odds of hitting the enemy. |
Action |
|
Blindness |
If the enemy fails a Wisdom save, they go blind for one minute, making it far less likely for their attacks to go through. |
Action |
|
Hold Person |
If the enemy fails a Wisdom save, they're paralyzed, meaning you can pile on the hurt. The only reason Blindless is better is that the enemy gets to repeat the save at the end of their turns. |
Action |
|
Blur |
Enemy attacks have Disadvantage against you. The only problem is that this is a Concentration spell, meaning that if a hit gets through, it could shut the spell off. |
Action |
Best Sorcerer Feats In Solasta 2
Image Via Tactical AdventuresOnce you reach level 4 (the maximum level of the Early Access build), you'll have access to a Feat, providing you with extra abilities outside your class. The best Sorcerer Feats in Solasta 2 are:
Ability Score Improvement: This lets you improve a stat by two or two stats by one. The Sorcerer should use this to max out their Charisma or try to get Dexterity/Constitution as high as possible.
Powerful Cantrip: Gives you a Charisma stat point, but more importantly, ensures that enemies always take half of your Cantrip damage if the attack misses or they pass their Saving Throw.
Casting Virtuoso: Removes the Disadvantage debuff when using ranged spells next to an opponent, and allows you to use spells when holding an item. If you're playing a Human Sorcerer with Ready for War, it means you can cast while using Shields.
